My kids like the Nitro swimming school at Cedar Park. Swim teachers are friendly and professional. My kids are making progress in their swim skills. Showers and changing rooms are limited. Water in the pool will be cold and some of the facilities are unavailable such as cloth driers hair driers but still the service is great. Also wish we had more flexibility over make up classes.
Words could never begin to express how grateful we are for Nitro Swimming in Cedar Park. The staff and swim coaches are welcoming kind knowledgeable and professional. They all go above and beyond for their swimmers. The positive environment has made such an impact on my child. The progress she has made speaks for itself. We couldnt be happier. It has truly been such a pleasure. We look forward to many more years at Nitro.
Weve been w Nitro for over 2 years and across 3 children and cannot say enough about how great this facility is Our youngest was a bit timid at first and Wylan was so patient and willing to switch with other coaches to work with our son each lesson. It made a huge difference and we are so grateful for his kindness
I have had a consistently disappointing experience with the Nitro staff both over the phone and in-person at the office. The demeanor of the staff members Ive interacted with has been without exception rude and unaccommodating. This lack of professionalism was further compounded when they unjustly cancelled our make-up token immediately following the cancellation of my two boys classes. Although I was informed that the cancellation was due to a credit card issue the abrupt and uncommunicative way in which it was handled without any attempt at finding a solution or offering assistance was unacceptable. It is disheartening to encounter such service especially in an environment where customer support and understanding should be paramount. I would urge potential customers to consider this experience when deciding whether to engage with Nitro.
I increased the rating to 4 stars in my updated review. My kids are in the nitro swim class for about 6 months now. I recently scheduled a make-up class and there was a gap of 30 minutes between the regular class and the make-up class. Since there were no other slots left we had to book the make-up class during that time. On that day I reached out to the front desk to see if they can accommodate 30 minutes earlier if there were any cancellations so the kids dont have to stay wet. I got a reply immediately from the front desk lady I understand 1000. We dont do that . The lady kept repeating we dont do that. I felt the tone and the response were really rude. I understand that there is constant demand at Nitro Cedar park location but that does not mean that customer response can be extrinsic.
We did a lot of research to find a safe swim school with a high success rate. We are ever impressed with the work and care each instructor puts into their students and the extra time Robert and other instructors take above and beyond usual swim time.We continue to love and enjoy Nitro swim. The positive nurturing environment has allowed my child to learn and grow in her swimming and overall confidence.Nitro has really become our family through the positive supportive environment to learn and grow.
Update rather than reaching to customer to address their concerns. They blocked my account how pathetic this business practice. Customer beware Honesty is the best policy I wont fake a review just because a business ask me to give 5 starsOverrated No consistency on instructors. The lady at front desk says she is the manager. She absolutely do not have any courtesy towards customers. She may benefit from customer relation education classes. Nitro Cedar park absence policy is rip off for each class 26 a pop.You are obligated to report at least 12 hours in advance there is no token if you are gonna report absence for thr last day they wont let you use that token. so that money is out the drain. You can only have 3 tokens issued per year. I feel like customers getting short end of the stick. Plus there is no consistency with instructors- they charge them around wherever they are short on staff. The best part is the app
Nitro is so wonderful My 4 year old started swimming with Nitro when she was 2 12 and Im so glad she did. About 7 months after starting lessons when she was 3 she ran off at the pool without her floaties while I was throwing away trash. It was an extremely crowded pool and and when I found her she was floating on her back in the deep end. Has she not flipped on her back she wouldnt be here today. That is all thanks to Nitro training. She loves swimming there so much that she told me a couple weeks ago that she doesnt want to do her other activities anymore she just wants to swim. The team there is so great
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this swimming facility. The teaching approach is fantastic. However one minor drawback is the time it takes for kids to progress to higher levels we often need to request tests from the coaches for them to move up. Additionally it would be great if the waiting room had a vending machine. Overall I have a positive impression of the place.
Nitro has been a warm and welcoming swim team family. The coaches all work together and communicate about each and every swimmer. My daughter has been challenged as a swimmer to be the best she can be. She continues to improve on her technique and has been cutting seconds off her swim times every meet. Her coaches all push her while also making swimming fun. In my book swim has to be fun or its just work. Thank you Team Nitro for all that you do for your swimmers Go Nitro

Autism-friendly camps come in all shapes and sizes, making it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs. An autism-friendly camp may come in the form of a day camp, meaning you drop your child off in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon, or as an overnight camp. The camp programs can range in length from a few days to a few weeks. The campers that attend autism-friendly camps may be autistic only or a mixture of neurotypical and neurodivergent kids. When it comes to support for your child, some camps offer 1:1 support while others have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio.
When choosing the perfect camp for your child there are five key things you should keep in mind:
- Interests: What does your child like to do? A sports camp probably wouldn’t be a good fit for your little bookworm. Finding the right summer camp that sparks your child’s excitement will aid in transitioning to and from camp, while also ensuring they enjoy their experience.
- Professional Support: How much support does your child need? A traveling camp may not be best for your child who tends to elope. Some camps offer 1:1 support for your child, while others may have a higher camper-to-counselor ratio. When looking for a camp, pay close attention to those ratios to ensure there is adequate support for your child’s unique needs.
- Specializations: Does the camp specialize in a specific area? If your child is nonverbal and the camp has excellent experience working with nonverbal children, it may be the perfect fit!
- Responsiveness and Accommodations: Pay special attention to camps that meet with you one-on-one either by phone, video chat, or in person, to mark out a personalized support plan for your child. You can relax knowing they’re on top of things and making sure your child is properly supported. Don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions —a great camp will welcome them!
- Location and Commitment: Not many people like a long commute. You know your child’s comfort level better than anyone else, so you’ll know what’s best for them, whether it’s a half-day camp, a full day, or an overnight experience.
Here are just a few of the benefits of summer camp for autistic children:
Fostering Social Skills: Summer camp is an excellent opportunity for your child to learn about different social scenarios they may face as they grow up and provide them first-hand experience in how to approach those situations in a safe and supportive environment.
Maintaining Mental Stimulation: With school out during the summer months, a child with autism may be missing out on many of the core structures inherently provided by the classroom and their classmates. No matter what sort of camp you choose or your child’s unique needs and interests, summer camp is a great way to keep your child mentally stimulated and challenged.
Friendship: Depending on the camp size, campers are often divided into smaller groups defined by age, interests, gender, and/or needs. These groups not only give your child the opportunity to closely identify with a group that they belong to but provide them an opportunity to learn how to make friends.
Independence and Confidence: Possibly the greatest benefit of summer camp for your child is the independence they gain. While the counselors are there for support and guidance, kids will have their own responsibilities and choices to make while at camp. Your child will be doing activities independently and actively learning what they like and don’t like. Having these sorts of experiences can boost a child’s self-confidence and nurture your child’s natural curiosity about the world.
