About New Horizons Academy

Founded in 1974, New Horizons Academy provides personalized education to children in grades K-12 with high functioning autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social anxieties as well as other learning differences and special needs. The dedicated team of educational professionals at NHA is committed to developing and implementing programs that will assist students with strategies for learning, improving their self-confidence, and building their self-esteem. Students will have a balance of direct instruction combined with independent and group work. This will give them the opportunity to engage in the learning process in a way that will be successful for everyone.

Do Not Enroll Your Kids. Our special needs kids are not treated with kindness or understanding and are not monitored for appropriate behavior and dangers. I will be contacting the Nevada Board of Education. My child (middle school) was put in class with elementary kids. My child was verbally abused and bullied by the music teacher without recourse. My child was sexually harassed by at least 3 students I know of without recourse. And the final choice to immediately pull them. My child was sexually harassed and physically assaulted (choked and hit) by another student and the school did absolutely nothing. I still have not heard anything from the school and it's been 4 days.
