Nemours Children's Hospital - Orlando

So the registration process is ridiculous Other than that the place is fantastic. Very nice and understanding staff who seems really on top of things and knowledgeable. We usually do not have to wait too long in the waiting areas which has all kinds of different shaped seats which is fantastic for kids with neurological conditions that are still fully mobile. My only complaint is they need more staff. Reg stakes forever and it take months to set an appointment.

Leaving three stars because we have previously had excellent experiences at this location. I am very angry that I just spent 3 12 hours on the road to get there and they could not accommodate us being 15 minutes late. My daughter has been waiting for this appointment for over a month and is in excruciating pain. I am so unbelievably angry that they could not find a way to fit her in. It is extremely disappointing and I dont think they would be happy if their child was treated this way.

On March 8th 2024 my 9-year-old son who has autism spectrum disorder developmental delays and is non-verbal had a dental procedure scheduled for 1030 am at the hospital requiring general anesthesia and fasting. When the hospital coordinator called the day before with the schedule I requested an earlier time due to my sons difficulties with fasting but was told it was the only option available. My son was called into a room at 1135 am and I do acknowledge there is usually a waiting time prior to the actual time of the procedure but it shouldnt be so long either. Despite my sons repeated requests for juice I had to ignore him as we waited. However there were further complications with the incorrect procedure listed in the system and we had to wait until around 130 pm for the doctor to finish another procedure and began with my son. Faced with my sons increasing agitation and inability to comprehend the situation I decided to leave as it seemed impossible to explain the situation to him. Although I understand scheduling priorities based on severity I wish I had been given the option to reschedule for an earlier time initially. My sons procedure was not a life or death situation therefore I couldve easily waited few months if needed with the appropriate schedule time . Now the hospital is charging a cancellation fee without considering my sons needs leaving me deeply disappointed.I dont understand how is it possible the hospital does not offered special accommodations for kids with special needs as such. Im totally disappointed with this situation.

Negligence and Poor ServiceNemours Childrens HospitalI am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the substandard level of care and service provided by your facility during my recent visit in the early hours of 022824 My child and I arrived at the hospital at 340am seeking medical attention and what transpired over the course of our visit was nothing short of negligent and unprofessional.Despite arriving promptly and adhering to the necessary procedures we were made to wait for an unreasonably long period of time sitting in the waiting area until 755am without any medical staff attending to us or providing updates on our status. Throughout this time I observed other patients entering and leaving the facility which only added to my frustration as I witnessed a lack of responsiveness and urgency to my childs needs.Furthermore my attempt to address these issues by contacting patient relations proved futile as no one answered my calls leaving me feeling disregarded and unsupported in a time of distress. The lack of communication and proper follow-up from your staff has left me deeply troubled and concerned about the standards of care at your hospital.As a parent and caregiver it is deeply disheartening to receive such treatment from a healthcare facility that is entrusted with the well-being of children. The experience at Nemours Childrens Hospital has been nothing short of distressing and has failed to meet even the most basic expectations of patient care and empathy.I must emphasize that the level of service we encountered at Nemours Childrens Hospital is unacceptable and the disregard for patients well-being and the lack of professionalism demonstrated by your staff are inexcusable. I sincerely hope that this incident serves as a wake-up call for your administration to address these systemic issues and prioritize the quality of care and respect for patients.In conclusion I must convey my utmost disappointment and dissatisfaction with the experience at Nemours Childrens Hospital. I regret to say that the best rating I can give your facility is nothing short of a PISS POOR rating reflecting the inadequate and disrespectful treatment we received.I trust that you will take this complaint seriously and initiate the necessary steps to rectify the shortcomings that have marred the reputation of Nemours Childrens Hospital. Trust this is not my last stop. I will continue until I reach the top executive because this just ridiculous.

Great hospital great staff. I gladly will drive an hour to see them

We are from out of town and my 1 year old daughter got RSV on our trip to Disney World. We got referred to the ER at Nemours by an urgent care we visited. The hospital staff was really great especially Michael in registration he was super friendly he kept checking on us while we were waiting for all the tests to be ran and made sure we had everything we needed. He even brought my daughter a stuffed animal and offered to give us a ride back to our hotel if we were looking for a ride we had to Uber there when he got off. Doctor Stoner was also really great at explaining everything that was going on with my daughter throughout our visit there.

Besides the long lines at the check in areaI love this location and the specialists my son sees here. The staff is always friendly from Endo to orthopedics. Very knowledgeable doctors as well.

Had an audiology appointment for my 6 month old daughter with Dr. Wilcox. She is phenomenal. She was a pleasure to work with. The hospital is beautiful. The only criticism I have is security is lax. They should do bag checks and have a metal detector.

Weve been coming over the last 7 years. My daughter had a few surgeries and therapy. Weve been going for orthopedics speech and OT but recently it is almost impossible to get scheduled which is sad we love the staff some do careMy disappointment comes with administrative staff. One was honest enough to tell me that priorities are Nemours Primary care referrals so anyone else has to just wait.I prefer this location over the Orlando location because its closer. However the decline is so evident. Seats are ripped it seems dirty they used to have valet parking it was in better condition. Some of the patients are just inconsiderate. At the entrance they leave trash at the parking garage cigarettes soda cans and have no regard for people crossing.The whole registration on the first floor seems off. It used to be such a beautiful place.

The hospital is clean easy to get to park at and get into. The process they have to bypass checkin after your first therapy appointment is a huge time saver.
