Nemours Children's Health, Longwood

Last week we transferred to this pcp since we relocated. My daughter has major cardiac issues that shes been seeing specialist for since she was hospitalized at 6 months old.My daughter is a walking miracle who unfortunately has a blood clot in her heart and has to be seen routinely for MRIs as we do not know the future. Shes the second child ever in the US to be ex planted from a Berlin heart device and no longer need a transplant because her heart healed.In lieu of obtaining new insurance I just found out today that she needs an authorization in order to get her mri tomorrow we just received this insurance info on last Thursday. I called Nemours explained how critical this procedure is my daughters cardiologist tried working with them as well as her previous pcp stating shed send her records over just so they can authorize the procedure as everyone knows how critical this is and how we have to monitor her heart rudely theyve denied helping in anyway advising they cant see her until November however MRI is backed up and would not be able to reschedule her until 2023. Again this is a 5yr old that almost died that we are speaking on. Ive been hung up on and all. So now this has been escalated. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Had to call Longwood because Nemours in Maitland wouldnt see my very sick little granddaughter because they had no appointments. Longwood turned her away also. A very sick little 4 year old who cant breathe constant coughing and crying from ear pain cant be seen by a childrens health care facility because they have no appointments. Shame on them. I dont car how many appointments they have when you have someone that sick bring them in but no not Nemours. What kind of childrens health care facility turns away a very sick little 4 year old

Took our newborn here for a few months until he got really sick. The doctor forgot to prescribe a medication that we werent aware of then tried to pass it off on me and my husband for being new parents. Last I checked people without medical degrees cant prescribe medications so we had no way of knowing he needed a second one. I felt like I couldnt ask questions and was given advice that just seemed wrong like a two week old needing to sleep through the night.We canceled the rest of our appointments and found a new pediatrician.Update its 2022. We havent been to this physician since August 2019 and they called to let me know my son is overdue for his physical. They seem to be a couple years behind.

I am a bit perplexed by the reviews that were left but we all have different experiences. My child had a wonderful doctor that relocated out of the state and finding one that met his needs with kindness and showed they actually cared was hard to find until I found this office 45 minutes away from were we live. This office has shown nothing put respect for our time and my child and his autism. They go out of the way to help and I wont hesitate referring someone to the doctors there. He had Vasquez but she relocated to a closer Nemours pediatrics. My sons new Dr. is amazing kind and down to earth. The staff is kind and patient and have helped whenever I call.

Awful. I was billed 138.00 for my daughters yearly shots despite that she has insurance which covers them. We also scheduled an appointment SPECIFICALLY stating that she has a cough we would like checked out in addition to her 3 year check-up. Took off work and picked her up from daycare for the appointment - arrived at the office and was told wait she has a cough you have to leave. and was told to make a Special appointment with their location in Sanford as if we had never mentioned it on the phone. Thanks for wasting our time and money

Honestly Nemours as a whole is very good. This office in Longwood is an absolute mess They mixed up my childrens files didnt listen when we were at the appointment. Made an appointment without my knowledge. They charged me for a Physical and a sick visit all in one visit because my children needed referrals which actually isnt needed because I have PPO. I escalated to be told I was the one who gave them the mixed information on a 17 yr old and 6 yr old but that was done on the phone while asking me questions. They said I wrote it down in the paperwork couldnt have because person took that info over the phone. They than denied my son asthma medicines because we were new to the practice but physical was done and release forms were signed. Ask me to show them my walgreens history of medicines this is all after the Dr while during the physical told me he was sending the meds to the pharmacy and it never happened. They were in a such a rush there attitude was salty and dry towards my children who are 5 and 6. I do not recommend this location and sad that this location gives Nemours such a bad name. Waiting on a call from the regional person who now they say they called me and that my phone was disconnected but I have gotten calls all day but from them. Just truly a mess and a bad name they are making for Nemours as a whole. I want to finish whatever I have left with them and moving my children immediately from Longwood office. such a shame

Our kids have been patients for long time with Dr. Vasquez and we absolutely loved her. Unfortunately Dr. Vasquez moved last year and since then we are seeing Dr. Desiraju. The new doctor is disrespectful and rude she doesnt want any question and if you have any she will brush you off.We will be looking for new doctor for our kids.

At the time Im writing this my daughter is no longer a patient at Nemours Childrens Primary Care since we had to move to Mississippi. However our experience with doctor Odette Vazquez was SO GREAT I felt the least I can do to thank her is leaving this review for other parents out there. Dr Vazquez is such a professional knowledgeable and experienced doctor every time I mentioned a concern for example she always listened attentively and then explained clearly everything about that concern in a way that left me thinking Yes That is exactly what happens to my daughter even details that I had forgotten to mention. Shes so naturally sweet to babies without being exaggerated or mocking baby talk or anything like that. Its hard to explain but seeing her with my baby daughter just put me at ease every time we came in for a visit. Add the fact that shes bilingual so both my husband American and I Chilean could voice our concerns in our own words in our native tongue which is how you can explain yourself best and shed get back to us in both languages. Aside from all the degrees and awards and academic qualifications which she has I value her human quality the connection she makes with her patients and parents. I never felt we were just a number or a name in a long list. Thats something hard to find nowadays... so to all the parents out there looking for a new pediatrician let me tell you I just cant recommend her enough.

Weve only taken our daughter here twice within the last year since our insurance changed and have to give them 5 stars for Dr. Vazquez and the PA sorry I cant remember her name. They have been absolutely awesome. The amount of time they spend with you attention to detail and you just feel that they actually care and listen to everything you tell them and want to help any way they can. which is way better than any other doctors our daughter has seen through the years. We have complete trust in Dr. Vazquez and the PA and most importantly so does our daughter. The rest of the office seems ok but ultimately this review is directed at the care from the medical staff.

I would have to agree that at times the front reception can be completely disorganized and have even forgotten to check me in twice resulting in a 2 hour wait for no reason whatsoever however the pediatrician that I have chosen for my children Dr. Vazquez is worth a 12 hour wait. She is absolutely wonderful and treats my children as mini adults. My son loves going to see her because she takes the time to hear him always fixes his booboos. She has never once made me feel incompetent and I feel as though there is never a dumb question I could ask her. I thoroughly enjoy our visits with her hope to never ever have to switch pediatricians. Nemours found THE BEST pediatrician.
