Introduction
Hi, I’m Natalie Murray, founder and Clinical Director of Thrive Talk Tools Speech Therapy, a bilingual pediatric speech-language practice based in Monterey Park (East Los Angeles), California. I started Thrive Talk Tools to give young children in our community a place built specifically for them. Our clinic is purposefully designed for kids approximately 18 months to 7 years old, with a fun, engaging environment where young learners can thrive.
Our team of speech-language pathologists shares a strengths-based, play-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach, with particular expertise in early communication, language development, AAC, and functional communication. Whether you’re working with me directly or one of our other wonderful providers, you can count on the same philosophy: real partnership with families, and communication skills that carry over into everyday life, not just the therapy room.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find me snuggling with my senior dog, taking walks in nature, or getting beat on the golf course by my husband and son.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
If I had to choose three words, I would say compassionate, curious, and intentional and they’re the same values I look for when I bring providers onto our team. I strive to meet every child with empathy and respect, recognizing that each family and child brings unique strengths and experiences. I’m naturally curious and believe learning never stops; not only through research and continuing education, but also by listening to families, colleagues, and the lived experiences of autistic individuals and other disabled self-advocates. That curiosity shapes how our whole team approaches therapy: thoughtful, individualized care that’s both evidence-informed and responsive to the children and families we serve.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
Thrive Talk Tools Speech Therapy is best positioned to serve infants, toddlers, and young children who benefit from a neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered approach. Our clinical interests include early communication, language development, AAC, and functional communication, and we especially enjoy partnering with families to build communication through play, everyday interactions, and natural routines. While our team supports a wide range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, we typically refer children whose primary concern is feeding or swallowing, or voice disorders to clinicians who specialize in those areas, ensuring every child receives the most appropriate care.
