About My Therapy Center Miami - Coral Way
A passion that we both share is holistic wellness, which includes the maintenance of physical, psychological and spiritual balance through exercise and nutrition, as well as a focus on positive influences in our lives. This is something that, since day one, we have always wanted to translate directly through My Therapy Center, Inc. You can trust that when we are developing a therapy plan, we are thinking of every possible approach, and focusing on the most positive, encompassing methods for you and your loved ones. The issues that we deal with are issues that affect not only those who are diagnosed, but their families as well, and that is why we also offer our services of education, consultation and advocacy to the family members of those we serve.
We had my child’s OT evaluation yesterday , and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we walked in, the OT made both my child and me feel comfortable and welcome.
She was incredibly patient, attentive, and thorough throughout the entire evaluation. She took the time to explain every step of the process, what each part of the evaluation meant, and how it translates into everyday activities. I never felt rushed, and I left feeling informed, reassured, and hopeful.
The best review came from my child. She immediately connected with the therapist and, on the way home, asked, “When can we come back?” That alone spoke volumes to me.
Based on this experience, we absolutely plan on starting therapy as soon as possible. I truly believe this is going to be a game changer for our family, and I’m so grateful we found this practice. I highly recommend My Therapy Center to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and child-centered care.

Frequently Asked Questions
The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
Noticing and understanding body language
Feeding and swallowing
Stuttering
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about you your skills, and you will most likely demonstrate these skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a couple hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with you, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon your strengths. If there are others part of your care team, the therapist may teach strategies for supporting your individualized needs at home and may recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help you thrive.
Monitor your progress. You can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure you're achieving your short and long-term goals.
