Mrs. Deana Cummings

Deana Cummings joined Legal Aid of West Virginia (LAWV) in August of 2003 as the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) paralegal. During her tenure as the TANF Paralegal, she represented clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits. She assisted those clients in every stage of the process, including applying for benefits, Administrative Law Judge hearings and Appeals Council appeals. Mrs. Cummings was also the Pro Bono Coordinator at this time, coordinating various efforts to serve Legal Aid’s indigent clients with the private attorney bar in her area.
