Dr. Tanis has been in Private Practice for over 15 years of clinical experience. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Wingate University, Master’s degree in Community and Agency Counseling from Winthrop University, and Educational Specialist degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Converse College. Mike completed his doctorate in Family Therapy from Amridge University with his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min). Dr. Tanis' dissertation was titled "Male Internet pornography addiction and its impact on wives in Christian marriages. He received his academic training in Sex Therapy at Psychological Studies Institute in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently continuing sex therapy education at the Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment.
