Midcoast Pediatrics

So unimpressed with the care here. My son received vaccines today came home and screamed non stop for over an hour. He has literally never been so upset and this was very out of character for him so it made us worry. The informational sheet we were given about the vaccines clearly states that extreme crying could be a sign of a reaction and to call your care provider. It also said to call them about whether or not we could administer infant tylenol he is 4 months. We called and we were put on hold for 20 minutes. The person who answered completely ignored the fact that the extreme crying was listed as a potential sign of an adverse reaction and acted like I was just making a call about tylenol. When I said this was an urgent matter and we needed to speak to his healthcare provider soon I was just told well were a busy office and we get to things as they come in. This office has been consistently disorganized and understaffed since we started coming here and has just gone downhill. Were switching to another office for our 2 kids after this most recent experience.

Great staff very friendly from the receptionist to the nurses and doctors We have been taking our children there for 13 years and I have never had a cause for concern Would not change a thing

Office cancels or changes appointments without notification No longer have AM walk-in hours Delay sick visits delaying patient care without reason. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and unorganized office and we would not have stuck around nearly as long as we have if it wasnt for good providers stuck in an awful system. I dont often leave this type of review and I often try to resolve issues at the point of contact but enough is enough.

Ive been going to Midcoast Pediatrics for 8 months now and we love it Every appointment Ive had they have been flexible and followed through with. Ive needed to call the on call doctor twice and they are super responsive and give great advice. Yesterday my child was diagnosed at urgent care with an ear infection. I had an instinct to call Midcoast today because I didnt feel certain of the diagnosis. Dr. Hanna listened to my concerns and helped figure out what was going on and diagnosed the problem. I have nothing but great things to say about Midcoast

This place is an absolute joke. We had been seeing doctors here for 6 months for our baby girl before we changed providers.They had our daughter in their system as a boy the entire time and were comparing her growth charts with male children leaving us thinking she was small in size. Everyone kept saying they would change it every visit but never did.One time she had a small seizure at home and when I called to speak with someone at the office about it they told me they were short staffed and we couldnt be seen even for a phone call for a week.They billed our insurance for a several visits over 90 days after service resulting in denial for the claims.This place is severely understaffed the staff the do have is extremely rude especially the front desk and administration and unfortunately that results in insufficient care for our children. Honestly I am not sure how the state is allowing this to continue due to such all around negligence.

Each of my kids have different Drs here...they both fit perfectly for each one. I have nothing but great things to say about them. They are professional and all the Drs Ive encountered have a gentle approach which is very important to me for my kids.

I sure hope your ready to wait every appointment Ive had I have had to wait 50 minutes or longer then just for them to tell me that the doctor I was scheduled to see wasnt there. Also if you plan on calling dont expect a phone call back. I would rather diagnose myself on webmd then go here again.

Be prepared to wait 10 minutes or longer to even try to talk to receptionist to schedule an appointment. Its sad that Urgent Care is more preferable over a primary pediatrician.

When you call the staff you are given incorrect information. The website needs to be updated concerning times of operation. Then when you do what you are told by the office staff you get to see a physician who does not know what is wrong with your child even though a diagnosis is presented by the er at the same facility. Unnecessary lab work gets ordered. Then you get belittled by Dr. Hanna and told you are going at me right from the start of the visit when you are not doing that in anyway shape or form This is the SECOND TIME Dr. Hanna has misdiagnosed my daughters condition and dismissed what was being said. I wouldnt go here again. A malpractice suit might be in order to prevent others from getting seriously hurt or killed by the lack of knowledge. Dr. Hanna should be ashamed of herself for her actions. Dont go here for anything

If you can find another pediatrician anywhere - dont go to midcoast. They ordered so many expensive and unnecessary tests that by the time my daughter hit 4 months our insurance company was investigating them for fraud. Courses of antibiotics without medical justification a chemical cautery that no one was able to explain the need for and the lab bills are still coming though were off to another practice.
