Merryn Affleck, BA

I am an Autism Advocate/Educational Consultant, and Life Coach and have been doing this professionally since 2001. Prior to that I held the position of parent support person for a number of different non-profit agencies in the San Diego area. I was also President of the North County Chapter of the Autism Society of America for over 9 years. This work with families and in particular supporting others as they worked with not only school districts but also various agencies to get help for their child, led me to become a professional advocate. My life coaching grew organically from this as I have found it impossible to work for the benefit of a child without working on all the people and issues that revolve around him/her. I love meeting the different families and I enjoy the IEP meetings - being able to turn around a sometimes difficult situation into an amazing team working together on behalf of the child. Specialties: Autism is my specialty. My now 23 year old son is HFA. But I have worked with families whose kids are all over the autism spectrum. I have helped many couples successfully work on their marriages and family problems. My expertise is Autism but I have and also for families whose kids have different disabilities.
