Founding Story

Michelle has been advocating for students with disabilities for 15 year. Michelle is a loving mother of two sons on the Autism Spectrum, Volunteer Director of Mentor Program for the Autism Tree Project Foundation, dedicated to children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and homeless, foster and adopted youth. Michelle is an enthusiastic Special Education Advocate with passion for supporting the unique education needs of foster, adopted, and homeless youth. Partnering with the DOJ, DEA, Health and Human Resources, Foster Care, Grossmont Community College, La Mesa Spring Valley School District, San Diego Youth Services, UCSD to build a community dedicated to improving the educational outcomes of foster, adopted and homeless youth and young adults. "As an advocate and mother of adopted children, It is my goal to change the law in order to ensure that every child that enters the foster care system is assigned an education advocate to support their unique needs and to bring an extra layer of support to struggling families."
