Mayo Clinic is the best institution in the country where the needs of the patient always come first As an employee a patient at Saint Marys I met the kindest humans comprised of everyone from transport staff health unit coordinators and housekeepers to urology IV and radiology technicians nurses social workers pharmacists physician assistants and nurse practitioners consultants managers administrators and leadership. In these hallways I met some of my best friends. Here I was supported through three years of doctoral education. They are the absolute best of the best Thank you for everything you do Mayo Clinic

Some doctors and nurses are absolutely amazing however some not so much. Why tell a child that suffers from non epileptic seizures or spells that its psychological. Granted yes stress can cause but she has medical issues that cause stress on her system along with POTS. Mmmm just cause she is 15 doesnt make it correct. She has had a few falls and yes I make sure to say are you steady to walk no falling cause well my back cant take much more. So what do they do put its in her head and ignore. Cool thanks

Went in with body aches migraine sore throat and bad cough chest and stomach pain from coughing. I was given ibuprofen. Sent to waiting area for 3 hours coughing profusely only to be sent home and told to take ibuprofen. Considering the migraine was definitely at a 10 and all the other aches and pains they could have gave me something a little more stronger also considering I had already been like this for 3 days before I went in. Nurse that helped me showed no compassion for what I was going through. She even gave me water from the patient room sink to take the ibuprofen. My discharge papers said I came and was treated for sore throat. Ive had similar experiences with Olmsted medical er. Makes me wonder if this is how they treat their patients or is it because Im a person of color. So now unfortunately I handle all my medical needs in St.Paul which is really sad that I have to commute over a hour away from home just to get properfair treatment.

Ive had four successful heart procedures here including a major open heart robotic surgery. It is probably one of the few places in the world that was able to artificially repair my valve this way instead of replacing it traditionally as other hospitals. The surgeons were excellent and there were some really great nurses and ancillary staff who took good care of me when I was feeling weak. Despite being so sick with several issues within the space of a week I immediately had a noticeable improvement to my long term symptoms from the back of heart repair.

Had to wait forever to be seen. ER waiting room very very small to accommodate the patients and visitors nurses are having to use the waiting room like a room by bringing patients pills doing vital signs did not care for the ARNP she made us feel like we shouldnt of even came to the ER and has no compassion the nurses very nice and knowledgeable. I am just total shocked thought it would be ran the same way like the clinics and it was just the opposite. I would not recommend to come to Saint Marys ER after our experience and what worries me we will still be here for hours and it took over 3 hours of waiting to get into a room and if you get up to get your blood work drawn take your chair with you since we came back and someone was lying down where we just sat less than 5 minutes. Thanks nurse Richard you were awesome and caring.

Ive been to a lot of hospitals for varying severity of needs but my Care Team and a team it has been has been extremely versatile communicative patient kind and attentive to all of my needs during my last stay.Overall every interaction every doctor Ive spoken with has been incredible and hyper-focused on my care.No hospital is perfect there were times where my patience was tested waiting for a procedure but again the actual interactions with other humans here have been the best experiences Ive had.

The emergency room can be very hot or cold when it comes to the wait. I had two ED visits in a week. On the first night I waited 5 hours and the second night I got to walk right in. The staff were very kind passionate and helpful. It helps I am a nurse and work at a Mayo building and understand the process. They were able to do initial vitals labs and UA before even being bedded and made things smoother. The second visit had me going to an OR procedure and an overnight stay at the Francis building of SMH. My inpatient stay went well and the nurses were amazing. My only compliant is that it took a very very long time to dismiss me. I wanted out before noon but we left at 230p. I had all my follow-up appointments done before I left which was helpful. The Mayo Clinic Patient Portal App helped with all of that. I highly recommend downloading that application.

Mixed experience at this hospital. The surgeon and his team absolutely could not have been better. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The post-op nurses that my dad had as he was coming out of anesthesia were completely out of the loop on instructions related to recovery from brain surgery and there had been no communication about how to find out when or where follow-up appointments would be scheduled. They also forgot to give us the medical device that we needed and called us later to come back and get it. Medically competent yes but in our experience there were critical things that fell through the cracks and we had to make sure we were asking all the questions or we would not have gotten vital information.
