Mayo Clinic is the best institution in the country where the needs of the patient always come first As an employee and as a patient at this institution I met the kindest humans over the years comprised of everyone from transport staff health unit coordinators and housekeepers to urology IV and radiology technicians nurses social workers pharmacists physician assistants and nurse practitioners medical students residents fellows consultants managers administrators and leadership. In these hallways I met some of my best friends. Here I was also supported through three years of doctoral education. They are the absolute best of the best Thank you for everything you do Mayo Clinic

Sorry patients needs dont come first and when I was a patient there the nurses were complete snots towards me stating they didnt have enough staff to be caring for me every time I needed someone to come to my room.I had a left broken pelvic bone and a right broken pelvic bone shattered femur broken sternum about a fozen broken ribs and was not allowed to leave bed and was told to call anytime I needed something. They had to put a rod in my left femur and put 2 rods in my hips. They got the length wrong on the rod for my femur and had to fo a 2nd surgery to fix that 5 days later. Turns out they were still wrong with the length because now I walk unevenly. A different seg of doctors say that my left leg is 2cm shorter than my right. Now I have permanent damage done and no way to repair it. The doctors stated I should heal up just fine and that was feb of 2022 and I have all sorts of issues now.I dont understand how mayo can be number 1 in the world. I have been begging them to send me to a clinic where I can get my pain managed and all they have done is torture me. Mayo will never make it right and now I know next time to go to HCMC.

They pick and choose cases based on what they can get published for. If you have a case that is not interesting enough for them youll get shuffled around with no real treatment.

Im sharing experience of brother. He went to Methodist Hospital for chemotherapy. When they were inserting the IV they messed up big time. His arm swelled up is very red AND very painful. He has been back to ER three times and admitted every time. Im doubtful that they know what theyre treating. Im not happy and he definitely is not

Mayo isnt just an inspired conglomerate of the worlds best medical talents under one roof although it is absolutely that. Mayo is an example of utopia in management. It seems that every single human that draws a paycheck from this institution is onboard to be excellent. I have never seen anything like it. From the amazing and amazingly kind urologist Dr. Nick Warner who resolved three years of misery for my father without making an incision to all the nurses to the assistants to the coffee folks to the security guards to the employees emptying the wastebaskets there is a pride a unity of purpose.PS The meals my father received during his stay in the Eisenberg building of the downtown hospital were on par with what we would expect in a restaurant.

I had two stays at Methodist in 2018. My first was for ten days and the last one just three. I was on the sixth floor both times in Station 62. The nurses were excellent They are compassionate caring go out of their way to help in any way possible. I cant say enough about how good the care was. My personal favorite was Rowena. She was awesome

My husband is there and I can only visit every couple of weeks as I live in Illinois they are so kind to my husband who is really sick they have comforted him respected him I feel comfortable leaving to come home until the next time I can come to visit they always ask when they leave the room if there is anything they can do for either of us and he has never waited for more than a minute after he pushes the call button for the nurse. This is what every hospital used to be like and should always be like.Thank you Mayo from the bottom of my heart.
