Dr. Maya Puri has been a psychiatrist for over 16 years with experience in General Adult Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, CPEP Psychiatry and C/L Psychiatry. Dr. Puri’s philosophy in medicine has always been “humanism” and “compassion”. In Dr. Puri's practice she does both medication management and psychotherapy. Dr. Puri most recently served as Medical Director at two different nonprofit organizations in Manhattan: 1) Hamilton-Madison House and 2) The Bridge where she had both administrative and clinical responsibilities. She has a Suboxone (Buprenorphine) Waiver from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is certified to treat opioid dependence. She treats conditions such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Psychotic Disorders, PTSD, Suicide, OCD, Eating Disorders, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Marital Issues, Substance Abuse Disorders and various other psychiatric issues. Dr. Puri is well-versed in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, family therapy, supportive therapy and group therapy.
