The only reason I am giving a two-star and not a 1 is because our nurse was phenomenal. Too bad this company tries to cover their own issues by blaming the patients or using their nurses as scapegoats. When vetting an agency for private duty nursing to assist with the care of our daughter we decided to go with Maxim because it sounded like the better option. We were told that wed be given a transitional nurse that would be in place until the company was able to get us a permanent nurse trained and into the home. We stressed that because our daughter is on a ventilator that we did not want a smoker in the home. We also stressed the importance of timely communication because of our very busy schedules. The very first nurse for our permanent smelled of cigarettes. We had multiple instances where we dealt with he said she stuff with regards to scheduling. We were notified by our nurse a week in advance that she was being pulled from our case she did that because she knows how busy our schedule is and how involved my daughters care is so we could make other arrangements for me to be home and help my wife. The Agency didnt notify us that we were losing our nurse until the day prior and that the information we were given about a transitional nurse was not what we were told that we misunderstood what was said during our vetting process.I feel sorry for the nurses that work for this company. The companys communication is lackluster at best. They put on a good show in the beginning but dont hold up to the expectation they set for themselves. Look elsewhere.

I have really enjoyed the patients and families I have worked with my 7 months here in Va.Maxim itself needs much improvement in communication between staff and families.

Ive worked for Maxim for over 2 years and have had a great experience. When my primary patient was in the hospital the recruiters and clinicians were in contact with me frequently making sure I got additional training support and cases to fill in on. There have been hiccups as with any company but weve worked through them. Communication is key on both the part of the office staff and the nurse.

Very unprofessional when it comes to the patient point of view. Maximum needs to be shut down. Spoke with Deshawn about admitting my child for private duty nursing for one its more professional and personal when you come meet parents face to face not a debriefing over the phone. Secondly I get through all the paper work and actually pick a nurse for her to come a few days then not show up. I heard nothing from the nurse or the agency. Thats beyond unprofessional for me. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH MAXIMUM. I dont think theres a agency of good quality on this side of town. That was a disappointing experience.

They suck. Their staffers lie and never admit to when they mess up. Nurses will go weeks without cases while caregivers go weeks without care because of their terrible communication skills. I never worked for a company who literally only valued what goes in their pockets and not their patients and staff needs. By far one of the worse companies I worked for.
