Mary Louise Marasovich, MA

I graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a Masters in Speech Pathology and a special education credential. I brought my experience in the public schools, hospitals, private practice and home health with me to Hawaii in 1986. Some of my specialized training includes PROMT (Prompts For Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), the Lidcombe Stuttering Program, Lindamood/Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing, Gemiini, LSVT Loud (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment), various accent modification programs, and continuing education in many areas. Over time I have developed many special interests which currently include autism related disorders, auditory processing, apraxia, cleft palate and stuttering. I believe in patient driven treatment with family involvement and use approaches that fit the individual. I have a passion for all things speech related and contribute to the future of my field by training master’s level interns and clinical fellows from all over the world. While I enjoy my reputation as a workaholic, I do take advantage of living in this healing and magical place by kayaking, doing yoga, walking and sailing with my husband and our rescue dog Hoku. While my profession is a joy, I am most proud of raising my 3 children to be wonderful adults who in turn have raised my 4 extraordinary grandchildren. My youngest daughter, Jill Arnold, MS/CCC/SLP, made Speech Pathology a family affair. It is a special kind of gift to talk, shop with her, learn from her, and see her make a difference in her community. Parenting has given me insight into the fierce and unbreakable bond between the parents and children who come to our clinic for answers.
