Introduction

My name is Maricarmen Angeles, and I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist and Clinical Director of Play & Talk Bilingual Therapy, based in the Los Angeles area. I have worked with children and families for more than 20 years, supporting communication development from early intervention through school age. My approach is warm, play-based, family-centered, and focused on each child’s individual strengths. My areas of expertise include early language development, Autism, speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language, bilingual development, and social communication. I’m passionate about helping children build confidence while giving families practical tools they can use every day.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

I would describe myself as compassionate, attentive, and dedicated. I’m compassionate because I truly care about each child and family I work with, and I understand that every child has unique needs, strengths, and ways of communicating. I’m attentive because I take the time to notice the small details that can make a meaningful difference in progress. I’m dedicated because I believe every child deserves to have a voice and to feel confident expressing themselves. I also value building strong relationships with families and creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, successful, and motivated to participate.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I’m best positioned to serve young children through school-age children with speech, language, and communication needs, especially those who benefit from a play-based, individualized, and family-centered approach. I have extensive experience in early intervention, language delays, speech sound disorders, bilingual language development, social communication, and working with autistic children and children with diverse developmental needs. I especially value partnering closely with parents and caregivers so they feel supported and involved in their child’s progress. I’m less well-positioned to serve children whose primary needs require highly specialized fluency, feeding, or swallowing treatment outside my main areas of expertise.

    Beaming Review

Maricarmen is incredibly supportive, always available to offer help whenever you need it. Families describe her as bubbly and friendly, and many appreciate that she is bilingual, which helps her bond with them so well. I’ve never heard a single complaint, and I would absolutely refer patients and family members to her!
