Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta - Dunwoody ( MJCCA - Zaban Park))

I am reviewing the childrens summer camp program. I have worked side by side with facilitators at the camp and have gotten some interesting inside info that I would like to share with the public.1. Pay The summer camp workers receive around 300-400 dollars per week. This amounts to around 7-10 dollars per hour. Meanwhile the camp charges around 500 dollars per child to attend the camp every week. With around 2 k children in the camp that amounts to a staggering 1 mil per week that the camp grosses. This is a complete insult to the single workers who are in charge of 15-20 children at a time. When inflation is at an all-time high who can afford to work with such low pay As a parent you are paying top dollar to bring your children to this camp but the people watching your children are receiving extremely low pay... Is this a wise decision to make as a parentI am not attempting to persuade anyone to change their mind about this facility MJCC. I am only mentioning a fact that I found to be ethically wrong. What ever you do with this info is up to you... Take it or leave it.

Im a visitor and was treated in a discriminatory manner by Rob Leventhal the head tennis pro at MJCCA. After being accused of using coaching signals while watching my wife play RECREATIONAL tennis 150 feet away I was disrespectfully spoke down to accused of something I was not doing and had the security called on me while peacefully watching a tennis match. When I voiced my concern to the security guard and Rob he said dont get me that black crapIm more of a minority that you This is completely uncalled for and ludicrous behavior. Its 2022 and people like this should not be allowed to represent an awesome facility like MJCCA.

My first time at this facility. Parking was not at all adequate for the event with an overflow lot a mile away poor signage and transport provided in school busses designed for elementary school students. It set the tone for the night.The facility wasnt designed for the type of event.

This is a critical resource for our community From the pool to the fields everything is always spot on. Keely Sime is doing a wonderful job there and takes pride in her work The whole team is slam dunking Thanks MJCC

The facilities are nice but the security company is rude and downright antagonistic at times it has been an issue for years but we liked what the place had to offer our kids. Today I saw a woman get harassed by a security guard while she was sitting in her parked car asking him to leave her alone so I think we will be letting go of our membership. Would hate to see something like that happen to my wife. MJCCA please hire a new company

It pains me to leave this review but it needs to be said after reading other reviews it looks like others have had issues with the same person. Karl H the head of security is sexist and rude and gets away with it because hes the head of security and theres nobody higher up to report him to. When I told him that he was being rude to me and that Id never experienced anything like it in all my years as a member here he suggested to me to report him to the main office if I wanted to knowing that the main office would be calling him to handle the grievance. When I did go to the main office to file said complaint I was confronted by Karl with a big fat smile of predictable power across his face. Ill probably be cancelling my membership after going here nearly my whole life because of this one man. Completely unacceptable to feel that unsafe at a place thats supposed to be a haven for members

I get there is an policy for no dogs. However two Sundays ago there was an white poodle on the property with an Caucasian couple. I have an service animal registered. Karl the supervisor of security wouldnt allow her on the property even with me offering to show documentation and her having her service vest on. I recently took the dog on a planesat next to us kroger and ymca but here i cannot. Why was the poodle allowed on the propertywith no service animal vest or badges on but my dog with documentation vest badges etc not allowed on the property Unacceptable. By law you cannot deny access with an service animal ANYWHERE PERIOD Unacceptable. I will not be renewing.

The MJCCA is a community center that has a lot to offer. They have indoor and outdoor pools fitness center gyms for basketball and other sports camps daycare preschool a book festival every year and so much more. Compared to other gyms the fitness center is smaller but there usually isnt a wait for machines and if there is a wait its minimal.The have great exhibits in the main hallway ranging from art to social justicehuman rights awareness. Theyre usually very educational and thought-provoking.Membership rates are a bit pricey but they dont have hidden fees like other gyms do. They also have a variety of options for memberships taking number of family members as such into account. There is discounted pricing for adults under 28 years old.4 stars because in general the people who staff the front desk workout area desk and gym desk dont acknowledge me when I walk in or out. In all of my time going to the MJCCA maybe 3 people have consistently greeted me when I come in. I just assumed that was their job.Convenient location if you live in the ChambleeDunwoody area.

Im 68 years old and have fallen in love with pickle ball. After doing some research I joined the Marcus Jewish Community Center. The experience has been delightful Im playing pickle ball with a group of people my age. The competition is good and the fellowship is great I havent been active for years the people I am playing with are patient and explaining the game to me as we go. I highly suggest joining this place if your looking to get in shape or desiring to get into competition the facility is great and the staff are most helpful.

Very special place - A friendly place. The staff really cares to do their best and as a result this is an extremely well run facility . It is safe and very clean. And best of all it seems as though each staff member from the director to the reception people and managers of the aquatic facilities are all responsible and caring people.
