Maine Veterans’ Homes - Scarborough

Avoid this place at all costs.

Worked there as a travel nurse the facility is clean. The house keepers kitchen staff and LNAs were top notch. Most of the nurses are rude and the patient care approach was definitely different than any Ive seen before. The DON introduced herself to me 6 weeks into my 8 week contract if it takes you that long to notice a new face in your facilitywell. The little mean girl crew running unit B are rude condescending and need education on how to talk to employees. The way you are treated there definitely depends on if you fit their little click or not.

Wonderful place to work I was a traveler sent here and it took me back to my initial days being a CNA. When things were disciplined staff really cared about residents and not a pay check where care was top priority. That is Maine Veterans home. Being certified 22 years ive seen the worse thanks to MVH ive seen the best. Special thanks to Mary Anne Irish for being so kind to me and making my time here fun it made all the difference in the world.

My family and I have taken part in the Maine Vets 5K the past few years and have really enjoyed it. The veterans come out and participate cheering and even riding in specially adapted bicycles so they can experience the race first hand. This is just one example of the exciting and vibrant lives that veterans live at MVH Scarborough. Top notch people providing top quality care.
