Incredibly misogynistic with a complete disregard for the safety and dignity of her child patients by breaking HIPPA. I saw Dr. Magyar at age 12. I had absolutely horrible experiences with her that left me feeling humiliated and alone.
Two events stick out to me. I told her that me and my friends were hanging out in a friend's basement. She proceeded to insinuate that me, a 12 year old girl(at the time), was having sex with all of her friends. I should not have to clarify that I didn't have sex with every single one of my friends.
The second incident is how she broke HIPPA. She told my mother that she suspected I was trans. I am trans, but never told Magyar. This information being given to my mother, information Dr. Magyar *assumed* about me, led to me being verbally accosted and berated by my mother.
There were other instances of her telling my mother about my returning depressive episodes and low self esteem, and criticizing my hesitence to open up during sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Even if a provider offers parent training, it may look different from one provider to another. For example, an in-home provider might conduct a parent training session directly following a therapy session with your child to help explain what they’ve been working on with your child. At larger organizations, you might have a support group of families who are dealing with similar issues.
