Introduction

Hi my name is Tina. With over 30 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist, I provide fun, child-led, neurodiversity-affirming, and evidence-based therapy that celebrates each child’s interests, strengths, and unique way of learning. I support children with articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays and disorders, autism, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). With specialized Autism training through UC Davis and Assistive Technology training through CSUN, I partner with families to help children connect, communicate, express themselves, and thrive.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

I describe myself as a fun, child-led, and neurodiversity-affirming speech-language therapist because I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and engaged. I use play, creativity, and each child’s interests to make therapy meaningful and motivating. My child-led approach allows me to follow the child’s cues while gently building communication skills. I honor different ways of thinking, learning, playing, and communicating, and I focus on each child’s strengths. My goal is to use evidence based approaches to help children feel confident, connected, and empowered.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I best serve preschool and school aged children who need support developing meaningful and functional communication skills. This includes autistic children, children who use or may benefit from Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), children with apraxia, and speech sound disorders, including articulation and phonological disorders. I also support children with expressive and receptive language delays or disorders who may have difficulty understanding language, following directions, answering questions, sharing ideas, or expressing their needs. My services are especially helpful for families seeking a child-led, strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and evidence-based approach that honors each child’s unique communication style.
