Introduction
Hi there! I’m Dr. Emma Baldwin, OTD, OTR/L (she/they), a pediatric occupational therapist with a creative heart and a passion for advocacy. I am trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding and love helping kids strengthen their skills in emotional regulation, sensory processing skills, confidence, and independence in daily life. I partner with children and their families to make therapy playful, meaningful, and inclusive. My goal is to empower every child to participate fully in the activities that matter most — while celebrating their unique strengths at every step! I do in-person sessions in the Sacramento area, and virtual sessions across the state of California!
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Empathetic
Collaborative
Creative
I chose creative, empathetic, and collaborative because they capture the heart of who I am as an occupational therapist and as a person. I show up for my clients and their families wholeheartedly. I find joy in connecting with children and being as creative as needed to discover what helps them feel like their best self. I take time to listen, understand, and honor each child’s unique experiences and strengths. I also believe the best outcomes happen when I partner closely with families and professionals. These values guide my practice and inspire me to support every child’s growth.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am willing and eager to serve children with a wide variety of needs, including those with ADHD, Autism, sensory processing challenges, musculoskeletal conditions, and various genetic disorders, as well as children who may benefit from support with feeding, emotional regulation, planning and organization, and daily life skills. I also have experience working with children following traumatic injuries or hospitalizations at Shriners Children's Hospital, which helps inform my practice. I enjoy partnering with parents who want to better understand their child’s strengths and perspectives, forming a truly collaborative team. I strive to create an environment that is playful, engaging, motivating, and meaningful, and helping families feel supported, empowered, and confident as their child grows, thrives, and participates fully in daily life. I am happy to answer questions about if your child is a good candidate for my services, so feel free to inquire! If I am not currently credentialed with your insurance, I offer private pay options and you can still inquire about my services in case I am able to work towards insurance approval for you! Please feel free to inquire further about if OT with me may be the right option for you.
