Lisa Johnson

Dr. Johnson earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and went on to earn her Doctorate in Clinical-Community Psychology from the University of South Carolina. Through internship at the Menta Group in Chicago, IL, subsequent work with children and families in Chicago foster care, current employment at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland in California for over 14 year, and a teen and adult focused private practice, Dr. Johnson has extensive experience working with children and families, teens, and adults with a variety of emotional, family, and community challenges including the impact of exposure to community violence, racial stress and trauma, and childhood abuse and neglect. As a result her therapeutic approach is systemic, culturally competent, insight oriented, and cognitive-behaviorally focused. Dr. Johnson has had extensive education and training in trauma and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
