About Life Options Vocational & Resource Center

(Critical for users to learn about the services you provide, consider including your agency's mission);Life Options Vocational Resource Center (LOVARC) was established as a non-profit organization in 1964, primarily serving children with developmental disabilities. Over the years, emphasis shifted to adults with developmental and general disabilities. Today, LOVARC serves over 100 persons in the Lompoc and Santa Ynez Valleys with vocational services, and residential programs.;Transition--The Bridge From School to Work--Students must be referred to LOVARC by the school, Regional Center or the Department of Rehabilitation. Any age is acceptable if authorized by the transition committee. Over age 18 is preferred if there is to be a work component to the transition program. Behavioral or medical barriers will be reviewed on an individual basis. An individualized transition plan is designed to best suit each student The plan may be as simple as assuring that the student is eligible for Regional Center and Department of Rehabilitation services. The plan may be as complex as half days in school and half days in paid work provided, or arranged for by LOVARC.
