About Legal Aid Society of San Diego Incorporated - Southeast San Diego Office

The Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. (LASSD) is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to lower income San Diego residents. The firm is funded by the government (City, County, State and Federal), as well as endowments and charities. The services we provide are determined by our Board of Directors, which is made up of local client eligible persons and a larger number of local attorneys. Also, a part of LASSD is the Consumer Center for Health Education and Advocacy. It is a stand-alone project of LASSD (our largest department) that specializes in health law, health care access and education.

Travis and Wendy are great and caring. The team works as if they were paid one million or more dollars for their clients. Travis Dean busted my case wide open with the questions he asked the opposing partys witnesses. I would want him to represent me anywhere and anytime. He pays attention and listens very well. This is the kind of help and Attorneys that San Diego and any City needs. There are still some great people in this world and Travis Dean and Wendy Romero are two of them

These people did absolutely nothing to help me instead they wasted hours of my time that I do not have. Its very sad because they are supposed to be there for low income people but instead it seems the other way around. Marni Borginia seems like she is just trying to do her job but whoever her supervisor is was rude inconsiderate and of no help. I hope they treat other people better than they did me.

Disappointing to call them seeking time-sensitive legal counsel when their offices open on Friday be met with a robo-answering machine leave a message and have no one get back to me. I would try visiting their offices as it does not appear anyone checks their voicemails.

Passive Aggressive and Gaslighting is what these Legal Aid Society employees are they make it feel as if they are on opposing counsel side they will provoke a conflict with you if you do not believe in what they believe in they will make matters worst and allow the case to go on for months without any resolution to the case when the case is actually almost completed they are incompetent in many levels and very hurtful to there own clients by gaslighting you Joanne supervisor bed side manners are very passive aggressive when confronted about this she denies it and thinks she is being nice towards you which in fact she was being very abusive towards the client and turns it around as if you are the confused one they act and look down to the there clients as if you are beneath them lesser then they are they think all there clients are uneducated and has no common sense value and you are worthless to them you were horrible towards your client and should be a shamed of yourself and still probably think youve done no wrong. A Client is supposed to trust there own Counsel not to betray them.

Waited on hold for 8 minutes then was hung up in. Second phone call was on hold 10 minutes when the operator answered she neglected to provide any information because she was under the assumption that I did not live in the location of the complaint. She simply stated to fill out an application. Very unprofessional free usually means what it means.

I just called the number to ask about legal assistance and the person who answered did not really care about my case. He just kept interrupting me and asking me questions and then when I asked him about the price he automatically said that it was a motion and started talking about around 500 dollars. I told him my case was in a particular state but because he kept interrupting me he could not even provide me with the correct state. No thank you if the Rep cannot help me on a general question and does not listen to me I am sure this place will not a good job.

When I first called to see if I qualify everything seem to go OK I was told to wait for my three day notice once i received that i was trying to notify the representative that was assisting me a month had went by I forgot the ladys name.. Went to the office and the lady at the front desk was rudely talking to a man ahead of me once done with him I got the same treatment but she did give me her me and said to call her because of the non appointment. I got that no problem.. Calling the office and u GET NO ANSWER someone kept hanging up the line.. U best option is to try another FREE agent. Poor customer service all the way around.

They are very helpful and here and everyone whom I ve had dealing with from legal aid reprsentatives phone people and intake girls at the court house are excellent and helpful. They were helpful here at their main office and to me because I have an actual case and prepared and of course I qualify for aid being poor and facing discrimination. Some folks might think they are going to do everything for them and thus are disapointed legal aid is only going to help a Person who prepares is qualified and has a case.
