Hi, I’m Leah Gonzales, a pediatric speech-language pathologist based in San Diego, California! I'm the founder of Sunbow Speech Therapy. I support children and their families through a play-based, child-led approach centered on connection. My areas of expertise include early intervention, speech sound and language disorders, apraxia, AAC, and gestalt language processing. I’m passionate about helping families feel confident and connected as they support their child’s communication journey. I strive to create a safe, engaging environment where children can build skills through meaningful, joyful interactions.

If I had to describe myself in three words, I would choose kind, patient, and playful. Kindness is at the core of how I connect with both children and their families—I want everyone to feel seen, respected, and supported. Patience allows me to meet each child where they are and move at their pace, without pressure. And playfulness is how I bring therapy to life. Through play, I build trust, spark engagement, and create opportunities for meaningful communication in a way that feels natural and enjoyable for the child.
