I am a public benefits planner, focusing on qualifying my clients for means-tested government benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medi-Cal (aka, Medicaid), and housing assistance. Most of my clients are elderly or disabled, or the friends and family of such people. I do nursing home planning for elderly people and special needs trusts for disabled younger people. I am a coauthor of attorney references: "California Elder Law: An Advocate's Guide" and "California Special Needs Trusts: Planning, Drafting, and Administration," both published by the Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB)
