This Y is an integral part of our lives They have friendly and accommodating staff. We like the Kid Zone so us parents can have our devoted fitness time. Our daughter plays with her friends at the kid zone and it provides some social interaction. The kid zone is huge and they even have some Montessori toysThere is a lot to do at this fitness center. Our family enjoys swimming and sweating out. The sauna is so important during the winter months The equipment are all functional and the hours are always accommodating.

Better than X-Sport Strong statement but yes this gym is better than x-sport in which Im only comparing the two because they are close enough to eachother if you wanted to make the switch. I love this gym because its never busy when I go. Plenty of equipment to share with others and plenty of space. Secondly the staff is super friendly. They have a pool too which is an added plus. They put safety first so they only close the pool when a lifeguard is unavailable.

The Lakeview YMCA is an affordable and convenient option for fitness. I enjoy the lap swimming in the pool and the fitness and water aerobics classes are fun and energetic. I have also made long lasting friends there.

The city and neighborhood are lucky to have a facility with this many amenities and wide-ranging offerings. Not the most modern or recently renovated but none of it gets in the way of achieving success. Recent changes at various levels of leadership showing immediate improvement especially in the youth aquatics program that was recently frustrating and now shows signs of flourishing.

Great neighborhood Y. Yes its an older building but that gives it charm. Their facilities are amazing. I go there to play basketball and every time there are always people to play pick up games with.Everyone has seemed to honor the order of got next and Ive never had to wait too long to get into a game. The cost of membership is on par with your L.A. Fitnesses Xsports and Lifetimes. However there are so many more programs available at your disposal through the Y and its a real community feel.

I really like this gym but unfortunately Ive chosen to cancel my membership. They have continued to raise the membership cost year after year and have nothing to show for it. I mainly played racquetball and they wont even bother to repair the crumbling walls. The Y of Chicago really needs to do better.

The tech hub in this YMCA is one of the best in the world. The young man working there I believe his name was Colin may be the best technology guy ever. Congratulations on that hire YMCA. Good job Colin

We love the YMCA and all the programs it offers. From swimming lessons to 3 on 3 basketball summer camps STEM art sports regularwe have done them all to this past years pandemic pod learning we are so grateful for all the YMCA does for our kids and our family. Our girls love Parent Night Out once a month and are disappointed when we are out of town and have to miss it. The staff members are delightful and extremely helpful. The camp team is amazing. The staff are caring and responsive and have gone above and beyond to create a nurturing and safe environment for my kids and our family. This location also has fun workout classes love Monday night Zumba and many others

Lake View is in my opinion the best YMCA in the Chicago system. I previously went to Irving Park and while I liked that one this YMCA is bigger and a little cleanernewer with a bigger weightlifting room in particular and a dedicated aerobicdance studio with almost every piece of equipment you could think of. This Y is very easily accessible by bus 9 Roscoe stop and is in a nice area too with coffee shops etc close by. Its also very close to the brown line.

Ive been a YMCA member for a few weeks now. Overall I like the place for workouts. You get a nice discount for referrals and being at certain ages. The facility and equipment are old and have lost their shine but they get the job done. Overall I havent found a need for any more equipment. Its almost never too busy and I get to shoot around at the basketball court too. If you need a no thrills gym then this is the place to go.
