I DO NOT RECOMMEND There are so many things wrong with this place I didnt even last 60 days. No one communicates anything with each other or to you the person I see for drop off isnt her teacher so she could never answer any questions. Nothing is reported to the Director so she doesnt know anything either. I noticed my daughter had a mark on her lip when I asked what happened no one could tell me anything she also had a mark on her leg and again no answers. I provided my own milk and for some reason sometimes they wouldnt give it to her. They give them tapwater out of the sink to drink which I think is crazy and my daughter kept getting diaper rashes and shes never had one before she started at this school. No one told me she was getting a rash but requested that I bring cream for her which I thought was weird when I have Vaseline for her because they ask for a diaper rash cream to already be provided whether they have a rash or not so that indicates they are sitting in their diapers. After noticing the rash I cleared it up at home and provided them with the ointment of my choice two weeks later she has another rash and theyre using a cream on her that I did not give them and it was making her rash worse and still no one notified me of the rash. When I asked Ms. Shay why is she sitting in dirty diapers she asked if I had pictures of the rash and then said well we dont know that as if it didnt come from that or them. What else could it be There were times her dad picked her up and she had a dirty diaper they did a Christmas show and when she came out she had a dirty diaper. Just about all of the kids are always sick My daughter got sick three times in a row since shes been at the school and it wasnt even a full two months. They show you a food menu for the month but what you see isnt always what they get. I just couldnt take it anymore and I had to get her away from these people. Beware before you decide to leave your child here
We have had our son there for the last year and a half. He started out at 3 months. Miss Matilde Miss Elena Miss Barbara and Miss Judy are absolutely amazing with the infants They provide great care safety and love.
I would not recommend putting you child in this school . I Put My Daughter in this school at 3 months . She only attended 1 week of this school because of how sick she gotten . First this place was super cold and they have no cameras so you have to believe what they are telling you . Your paying 340 and no cameras I pay 310 and I have live cameras now like that is ridiculous. Anyways My 3 month old caught a virus that was so bad it took 3 week for her to get better They were never PREPARED IN THE MORING. And they always had one person in the early morning with like 6 kids when that not is the limit per caretaker . The limit per caretaker is 4 babys to 1 caretaker why every time I dropped her off it was more than 4 baby in there with one caretaker. I felt so uncomfortable leaving my baby there that one morning I just took her with me instead of leaving her because of how unorganized they were. Then to top it off there was no structure and the director was not welcoming . What mostly disappointed me and got me really upset and I said its the last straw is when they had no one in the morning to take my child and they put a young girl in there who never been taking care of young babies before .she was always with the older older kids . The director swore this young women knew what she was doing and once again she had like 7 kids with her she needed help I was the one who had to tell the director that Im not leaving my child if there isnt a second caretaker in there because that is ridiculous. So later that day I came to check on my infant and why WAS THIS YOUNG GIRL OUTSIDE THE CLASS WITH MY 3 MONTH OLD TALKING TO HER COWORKER LIKE MY CHILD WASNT IN HER HAND CRYING EYES PUFFY NOSE RUNNING SHE LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS CRYING FOR 30 whole minutes that how bad my baby face looked . I was astonished to find this when I appeared then the women had the audacity to give me and attitude when I pay 340 a week for this type of service for my infant .NO THATS NOT HOW THINGS WORK I immediately withdrew my child the same day and took all her stuff and left . I would never use this location . Now my daughter in daycare and she never gotten a sick no virus and she happy and they love her and treat her like there own . And they even change her clothes and follow what you ask of them . Always respectfully and never rude or have an attitude . Funny part is I actually liked ms.judy she was the only one who I trusted with my baby if she wasnt there then I would of never want to even leave my child . this location need to do better

My wife and I absolutely love this school and would highly recommend it for any parents that are looking for great place to send their kids. Our son has been enrolled for about 6 months now and we cannot believe we did not enroll him sooner. Mrs. Jennifer Ms. Misty and the entire staff of teachers are amazing. There is constant communication and they have created a very close knit family atmosphere which is evident whenever you drop off or pick up your kids. Daycare and schools especially for first time parents is an extremely nerve wrecking and difficult decision and after touring 3-4 other schools we could not be happier where we ended up. Thank you to the staff and all that they do because they are the reason why this has been such a great transition and experience for our son.
My kids adjusted so quickly in this loving daycare. The teachers go above and beyond to make our littles comfortable and it shows. My kids dont want to leave at the end of the day The activities they do with them are so creative and enriching.I love everything about this place. Im so happy my kids are happy at KinderCare. It feels great to know they are in a safe and loving environment.
I enrolled my two daughters with Midtown Plantation Kindercare in late May. From my initial call tour I was impressed. My oldest 3yo daughter had never been in a daycarelearning center environment. Shes a spirted little one and Miss Misty and Miss Lovely were terrific at helping her acclimate to all of the new changes. There are days she still has a tough time and shes always welcomed with warmth and a smile. I receive picturesvideos and updates through a very user friendly app showing all the activities shes doing. Her vocabulary and speech have improved tremendously. Shes just graduated to Miss Alicias class and I LOVE the lessons and activities shes engaged with. The Infant room is equally as wonderful. They treat my infant like shes one of their own. Im a EBF mama and theyve been very incredibly accommodating about me visiting her on my breaks to maintain our nursing relationship. The campus is currently closed to parents due to COVID so they bring my baby out to me when I come to visit. It has helped immensely for the transition not only for my baby but me too Theyre Director Miss Jen has done a terrific job of keeping their staff and the kids healthy. Just recently I had a flat tire in the parking lot and Miss Misty was out there helping me change the spare Shes absolutely wonderful and I feel incredibly lucky to have found this learning center. Thank you Midtown Plantation Kindercare

I recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a safe place for their child to grow and learn. My beautiful princess has been going here for about three years and she loves it. Her first teacher Ms Misty made her feel like a princess every day and taught her so much. Now she has Ms Shay and she is learning so much to get ready for Kindergarten in the Fall. I love Mrs Jennifer and anytime I have a question I can just go to Mrs Jennifer and she will answer it for me. We have a lot of laughs together and they just make me feel like they are a part of my family. It makes me feel really good about sending my princess there. I am going to put my baby there once she is born too. I really like that Mrs Jennifer and Ms Misty are always so friendly and welcoming on the outside of the school since I cant come in from the COVID. This is the best school in the area and you should call today to put your kid in there. They also speak English and Spanish so it helps when your English isnt the best like mine. Choose this school for your little ones today.
My Daughter has been attending KinderCare for almost a year and 12 and since the first day she started Her Teachers always made her seemed welcome. They have good communication as well as making sure every parent receives any important messages or updates we need to know about. They are also well connected to the kids and you can tell that the kids have fun when theyre there . I highly recommend this childcare facility for anyone who isnt sure about daycares.
My son and daughter have been students at this KinderCare since they were infants. I love it and they love it too. The teachers are so caring and attentive the director is loving and accommodating. I am so happy that they are there for my children. They provide amazing care and I feel calm and secure about the safety care and learning that they receive. Their hours of operation have been amazing for me to be able to work uninterrupted especially during the current pandemic. And I agree with all of the additional precautions that they have taken. Thank you KinderCare
This daycare is one of the best in the area. The directors are very helpful and informative and it is obvious they care about the wellbeing of the children. My 2 yr old is happy and excited to go to her class and see her teacher Ms. Misty everyday. She is always learning and I feel very happy and safe with this environment. Ive seen Misty interact with other parents and students and it is obvious she loves her job and loves her students. This is a great place.
Frequently Asked Questions
Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
- responding to questions
- starting or ending conversation
- changing conversation topics
- using gestures like pointing
- understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.
Spot speech and language delays like a doctor here.
The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
- Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
- Forming speech in a clearer way
- Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
- Understanding and responding to questions
- Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
- Noticing and understanding body language
- Feeding and swallowing
- Stuttering
“Early Intervention” might be the provider’s way of describing services that they provide to babies or young children. However, it might also indicate that the provider is a vendor for your state’s publicly funded program. This means the services with this provider might be covered by your state!
The first step in accessing these free services from your state is to get an evaluation. The evaluation will help the state determine what services your child qualifies for, if any. You can find your state’s local EI program by clicking here.
When you contact your local center, say “I have concerns about my child’s development and I would like to have my child evaluated to find out if they are eligible for early intervention services.” They will ask screening questions and arrange for an evaluation, which is provided for free.
If your child does not qualify, you can ask your school to evaluate your child for a 504 plan. This article provides more information about the differences between IEPs and 504s.
This happens. The results of the school’s evaluation may be different than your child’s medical diagnosis. It’s also important to remember that school is NOT the final say on your child’s potential. They may offer very little support to your child, underestimate their abilities, or disagree with you on what support your child needs. You will probably need to advocate for the services and support you believe your child needs.
Most children go to daycare before they enter preschool at age 3 or 4. Most children stop daycare at the age of 6 when they go to school. Children who are homeschooled might continue daycare programs. Kids diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities might be in both daycare and therapy programs longer. Special needs programs and centers help children up to 26 years old.
One of the best things you can do is to have a conversation with the daycare staff. Share details about your child’s autism diagnosis, strengths, and challenges. Building open lines of communication will help you work together to support your child’s needs. Prepare the daycare provider to work with your child with a physical guidebook. This guidebook can include all of your child’s favorite things and how to calm them down. You might already have one ready from your experience with babysitters or teachers!
