Kids Care Dental - San Jose

The environment here is clean and vibrant. Wall decor instantly attracted my kids. Staff are warm and welcoming encouraging them throughout the process. They also offered kids a bunch of gifts and took a picture and printed it out for us. Overhead TV definitely took away a lot of anxiety. My seven year old was watching too attentively that sometimes he would ignore instructions. My one year old had positive experience too. The doctor started singing songs right before she was about to cry and that definitely distracted her from being nervous. I can tell that both kids are looking forward to coming back.

I guess I was not the only one who was surprised by the bill after they said I dont owe anything I had really good insurance and this routine dental work should be covered anywhere I go. I had the same experience as everyone who left the review that the staff never picked a phone to explain why.On top of that my son had four cavities after we moved to another dentist. I thought they just looked at my sons teeth...

I took my kids here and I really love how patient they are with them. They werent scared anymore after their appointment which is a huge obstacle to overcome with children. Its always clean and a great place for young children.

This is our first visit. All the staff was super friendly. My son loved it he got treated very well. He got a picture car toy and ballon.He is saying visiting dentist is fun.Its a well deserved five star.

My husband and I took our 3 year old there last Saturday for his check up appointment. Its the 2nd or 3rd time hes been there and this was the worst experience we had. First the appointment was made without my input and they did it for 9am in the morning which is too early for us. The last time we brought him in I tried to schedule his next one at the front desk but they said theyd do it on their end and Id get a confirmation. I got no such thing. Thankfully we didnt have anything else going on that day so we brought him in anyway. We were running a few minutes late so I tried to call to tell them but no one answered the phone. They were still closed according to the automated message but when we got there there were already several patients there and there was someone at the front desk.The dentist was fine but the woman who assisted us I dont remember her name but it started with an M and she had RDH on her badge didnt bother to look at my sons chart beforehand and treated us like we were brand new to the office. She also did not know how to handle our son and told my husband incorrect information. My husband is a dental hygienist himself and said that the way they tried taking his dental X-rays was more difficult than it needed to be so our son got a little fussy. M kept asking what was wrong with our son but it was really her bedside manner that was the problem. Our son usually does pretty well at the dentist. My husband was shocked when I told him that M was an RDH because he said she kept telling him wrong information saying our son needed to floss when he still has plenty of space between his teeth even the dentist said flossing wasnt necessary yet so they didnt floss his teeth during the appointment.We started coming here last year because the Saturday appointments were really convenient for us but now well have to look elsewhere.

Dr. Katy is just awesome I appreciate the attention to detail friendliness and how well she is able to get my children to cooperate. The staff is great too. Dr. Katy knows her stuff and is really invested in making it a positive experience for all her patients. She has a wealth of knowledge

Stay away from this shady businessThe dentist and staff was great but the centralized back office terrible. We had a visit for a standard cleaning for my son shared our dental insurance and was told this visit would be covered my insurance.Later on I get hit with a text asking to pay a balance due. Im thinking that our insurance should cover this visit so I call the number to see why there is an outstanding balance. No one ever answers you just get a stupid Wilson Philips song to hold on... There is an option for them to call you back but they never call. Now I get texts all the time about the balance and every time I call they do not answer. They just want you to pay this random balance via their website so they would stop spamming you. I tried talking to the local dentist about it and they arent able to help either. STAY AWAY

This place is a scam. Avoid it at all cost. I wish I had read the reviews here before taking my kids there. My experience has been similar to comments I now see from others hereThey first told my insurance would cover for my daughters care and then after 6 months I had a big bill they said the treatment was actually not covered by the insurance although I asked and provided insurance information upfront before they did the treatment. My daughter has been to dentists her entire life and never had any dental issue. Our insurance changed so we went to Kids care for regular cleaning and they diagnosed her with 5 cavities in first visit which really surprised us. But we did not suspect anything. And now after receiving this huge bill and reading all these complaints from other I wonder if this is all just a scam to create a big bill claiming that services are covered and then ripp people off. Given all the bad stories reported in these reviews I wonder if we should all collectively report this practice to the DA or may be even take legal action

This has been the most disappointing experience with a dentistry service. Ive been taking both of my kids to Kids Care Dental for several years but their service has become increasingly difficult to deal with since last year. During regular check-ups they perform occasional X-rays check insurance coverage beforehand and request the associated co-pay which I pay during the visit. However a few months later I received an email stating that I owe 297. Upon contacting Kids Care I was directed to their central office which proved unhelpful. After several attempts I finally reached someone at the San Jose location who explained that they recently changed their billing system and that I was the 10th person to call about it. She assured me she would inform her manager and resolve the charges.Although the amount was reduced from 297 to around 120 I mentioned the ongoing billing issue during my kids scheduled cleaning. The staff member informed me she was just filling in for the day and would have the manager call me but I never received a call. Additionally my elder son had teeth extracted leading to issues with his permanent teeth. After a year of seeing an orthodontist at Kids Care they presented an exorbitant cost for treatment. Seeking a second opinion elsewhere revealed that orthodontic treatmentbraces could be done for half the cost.In summary I advise avoiding the long-term hassle and subpar service at Kids Care Dental. Explore better dentistry options and dont be swayed by the locations appeal.

I had a great 1st time experience My children also enjoyed it I was so appreciative of how everyone handled my sons anxiety he usually gets when getting work done. The work that needed to be done was done in a timely manner. He didnt have any fear and is ready for his next appointments
