Both sons have had their wisdom teeth pulled here. Great team and doc followed up with a phone call to see how they were progressing. - 2 stars for their call service. Had to go into office to schedule a follow up appt that doc had requested.

UpdateRoughly 3 weeks after visiting Dr. Connolly my childs tooth has now died and turned dark. Picture attached.The short versionDr. Connolly put a silver cap instead of white like we discussedHe left her with a gapHe brushed her screaming in pain telling him it hurts off as shes just a kidLong versionBrought my 4 year old here specifically because her normal dentist does not do composite white fillings and she had a cavity on her front tooth as well as a broken tooth on her molar. The front office informed us that this location will do composite filling and white crowns. I went in to get an exam for my daughter and Dr. Connolly told me that he will do a composite filling as well as a white crown. He specifically said we arent too sure how long the white ones will last but if it breaks you can just come back and ill toss a silver one on there no charge i dont want to brag but im pretty awesome at crownsI liked the confidence.We scheduled the appointment and my daughters mom brought her in for the procedure. My kid comes home with a silver cap on her molar and a gap between her front teeth. Literally the complete opposite of what we discussed. Not too sure if he actually did a filling in the front or just shaved away the cavity. However she didnt have a gap in between her teeth before.Additionally my daughter has already had 2 fillings and never had an issue during those procedures. I was filled in that my daughter was screaming and telling Dr. Connolly that it hurts and when her mom spoke up about it he said shes just a kid and impatient shes not in painI wont bother going to a dentist for a white cap since it is a baby tooth and will eventually fall out.Not only did he do the exact opposite of the thing we discussed he also left her with a gap and had total disregard to her because shes just a kid and apparently cant express when shes in pain.My daughter enjoyed going to her old dentist he was patient and sweet and built trust before messing with their teeth. Dr. Connollys actions represent the dentist from the Fairly Odd parents. She is now not thrilled talking about the dental office. So. Ya know. Appreciate the disregard for chid care and unprofessionalism when dealing with my child as well as her mother and not writing a note to remind you that dad and I talked. White crown. Not silverI encourage people with legitimate complaints that you can back up to file a grievance with your dental insurance company. If a company receives enough complaints they will get investigated by the insurance to see if they should keep the dentist in network. Less networks. Less patients to accept more time to give adequate care

The front desk staff are very professional and polite.My encounter yesterday was exceptional.I wish I wouldve gotten her name but she took the time to assist me with getting a bill cleared. Im not sure if thats normal practice but I greatly appreciated her time and initiative to get my bill straight.The dental staff are also always very friendly and make my kids comfortable.

Everything is great except the main orthodontist being ignorant of my presence. She barely acknowledges me even though I am sitting in front of the chair. She never asks if I have any questions or concerns. She just communicates with the technician and just briefly with my daughter.Yesterday they thought that there was another tooth growing under the existing ones. They took my daughter for another x-ray without telling me anything. I learned from my daughter what happened. After finishing the exam she just left. The technician was nice and it always is. Still I find this very strange uncomfortable and unprofessional.Update They continue to be good in some aspects and unprofessional in other. My daughter who is 17 was denied a treatment because they need a parent present. I went there immediately. While the receptionist was kindly explaining their policy to me they took my daughter in and started the treatment without telling me or inviting me in. So I need to be there just to satisfy their policy. They didnt care asking me anything about treatment or informing me. I did insist to be present in the room. This is how I discovered that had I not been assertive they would have done whatever they deemed necessary and whatever my daughter approved. Let me remind you that she is a minor who was denied a treatment because a parent needs yo be there to approve procedures.In reality it wasnt a big deal for me but it left me dumbfounded and disappointed with the lack of genuine care.

Originally I never planned on leaving a review for Kids Care Dental when we left two years ago but unfortunately they have forced my hand.We left this outfit back in 2021 when they were showing a consistent decline in quality of service after Dr. Jeff left in my opinion. Maybe theyve gotten better since but at that time the dentist who replaced Dr. Jeff typically addressed me as if I was the age of my child. Example When I asked a question about a shot my son would need for a cavity fill she quickly interrupted and in a child-like manner lectured Ooohhhh noooooowe dont refer to those things as shots. That makes the children very nervous. We like to call them a slight spice or something more mild along those lines. I wanted to say Listen Doctor if you have your preferences thats fine. But hes my son and you and I are both adults who know exactly what a shot is. But I was polite and refrained. I know this may sound silly but this is just one example of many in the way she addressed us as parents as if we were children. Although I looked past it it really bothered me.Then came the actual procedure where the Dentist performed one out of the three needed fillings and stopped after my son started crying. She said he couldnt handle anymore fillings and that we needed to go to a facility and put him to sleep for the remainder of the procedure. I interjected that he was simply crying and that he can make it through but she declined.To prove I was right about knowing my sons own tolerance level the next Dentist we joined after Kids Care was able to perform the rest of his fillings while he was crying with absolutely no problem whatsoever. No need for facilities and putting him to sleep. I knew that dentist was wrong and overplaying it but whatever. We left Kids Care Dental after finding a much better place and havent looked back since.Until now.Two years later this office texts me a 40 bill for work that was done in 2021. When I informed them that we had not been there in over two years and asked why this was not discovered until now they simply said that they have a new billing system. I asked for an itemized list of the charge to be sent to me before I pay this bill which they agreed to email me within 24 hours. I suppose that request was beyond their capability since I never received it. Finally I just decided to pay it and be done with this outfit.Needless to say I would highly recommend folks go elsewhere for pediatric dental services. Theres many better options in the greater Sacramento area than Kids Care Dental.

The dentist was great but the dental hiegenist could have done a better job. During the cleaning she left my son with the stuff in his mouth while she got distracted by talking to her coworker and looking something up on her computer. My son was motioning to her that he was uncomfortable but she kept on going with her discussion and did not pay attention to the patient. We hope to get a different dental hiegenist next time that focuses on her patient especially when it is a young child.

The actual dentists and hygienists are awesome. Billing for orthodontics NIGHTMARE. We moved out of state in the middle of my daughters orthodontics treatment. We warned them about the move a month in advance. And they had me fill out a Release of Liability at her last appointment. It has been a literal nightmare trying to get her records get a refund for our portion of paid services not rendered which is accruing interest on our CareCredit Card as we speak. They also cant find the Release of Liability I filled out and claim to have emailed me a new one never received. Their front office only called me once and left a voicemail and I followed the directions on said voicemail. Then they close down for a full week Billing for KidsCare doesnt handle orthodontics apparently - each Ortho office handles their own billing. And literally every time I call billing I am on hold for over 7 minutes while they try to transfer me to Ortho at this location and they cant get through. And to top it off they had the gall to charge our insurance for ortho services for her AFTER we moved.Bottom line Pray you dont have to deal with the billing part of the orthodontics office. They are never available and take forever to settle problems.

We are choosing to leave Kids Care dental because of ridiculous wait times and inconsistent medical advice given by different dentists at the same office. Kids Care overbooks office visits so that if you are unlucky enough to have an afternoon appointment the dentist is so behind you will be sitting in the exam chair with a bored anxious child for 30 to 60 minutes. Also one of my children has a mouth that is too small for x-rays. She is now 7 and has never had an x-ray. I find it hard to believe at pediatric dentist cant accommodate a child with a small mouth for routine x-rays. We wont be back after several visits with the same experience.
