Introduction

Hi there, I’m Kelsey – a speech-language pathologist based in San Francisco. I mostly work with little ones in the early intervention stage, but I have experience working with kids of all ages and adults across the lifespan. I’m especially passionate about working with kids with childhood apraxia of speech — I had lots of hands-on experience with apraxia during grad school, and I found my niche! My approach is play-based and child-led because I believe therapy should be fun, engaging, and all about building connection. Communication isn’t just about words — it’s about relationships — and I always aim to create a supportive space where kids and families feel confident and understood. When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me exploring California (I’m originally from the East Coast!), spending time with friends and family, getting lost in a good book, or learning how to surf.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Compassionate
Playful
Patient
I would describe myself as compassionate, playful, and patient. I’m a strong believer in meeting kids where they are and following their lead to make therapy fun and meaningful. I’m especially passionate about working with kids with CAS and love digging into what makes each child unique. I’m curious and always learning — whether it’s through continuing education or just seeing the world through the eyes of the kids I work with. I strive to create a space that’s warm, supportive, and connection-focused.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I am best positioned to support young children ages birth to 3 who are just starting to build their language skills, as well as children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and articulation challenges. I use a play-based, child-led approach to help kids feel engaged and confident as they learn to communicate. CAS is a special area of interest for me, and I have extensive training and experience in supporting this population. I’m always happy to help families find the right fit, even if that’s not me!

We have a 2-year old with language delay. His language development has grown leaps and bounds since Kelsey McKee has started seeing him about 1/2 year ago. Kelsey McKee's flexible scheduling works great for us and our son.

Our experience with Kelsey was great. She was so engaged with our son. He looked forward to seeing her every week. We liked that Kelsey came with good positive energy every week. This really helped our son open up and learn. Kelsey also kept a good line of communication open. She always explained what she was working on with our son and gave us things to work on at home. I just wish we could have continued to work with her after my son turned 3.

Tiny Talkers has been amazing. Kelsey has done a tremendous job with our son. His speech has improved tenfold since Kelsey has worked with him and we could not be more pleased with his progress. Their ability to do in home sessions was a big help for us and they were very accommodating with working around our work schedules.

    Beaming Review

Kelsey McKee is a miracle worker. She’s been working with both of our children (ages 5 and 3.5), each with their own unique speech challenges, and the progress has been incredible. We’ve seen meaningful improvements quickly - at home and in school, in 1:1 and group settings alike. What makes Kelsey so special is her natural connection with kids. She meets them with warmth, patience, and just the right balance of fun and focus. Our kids adore her and look forward to their time together, which has made such a difference in their confidence and communication. Kelsey is also consistently punctual, professional, and reliable. We’re so grateful to have her in our children’s lives and couldn’t recommend her more highly to any family looking for a gifted and caring speech therapist in SF.
