About Kay McCarthy Building Blocks

Kay helps children between the ages of two and eleven. Most of the children she sees need support in a specific area of development. The most common areas include processing sensory information, small muscle skills (fine motor such as pencil grip), large muscle skills (gross motor such as balance and coordination), and the behaviors pertaining to sensory difficulties. In addition, Kay works with children on the autism spectrum. Kay works with some children who have IEPs, or Individual Educational Plans, which are obtained through the child’s school district. The parents of these children are seeking additional services to enhance what the school provides; however, children do not need to have an IEP to benefit from Kay’s assistance. Kay is dedicated to helping children be confident and physically ready for school. She strongly believes that meaningful physical activities are the building blocks for academic achievement.
