Introduction
Hi, I’m Katie — a speech-language pathologist based in San Diego. I work with clients across the lifespan, from children to adults, providing therapy that’s evidence-based, engaging, and focused on empowering families through education and collaboration. I am Medical SLP Certified, which provides me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to deliver exceptional care in medical settings, and with medically complex individuals.
My areas of expertise include communication and swallowing disorders in adults, as well as pediatric feeding, apraxia of speech, and articulation therapy. While I don’t specialize in AAC or AAC assessments, I’m always happy to guide families toward the right resources.
I’m passionate about helping people at every stage of life communicate with confidence and lessen mealtime stress.
Clients and colleagues describe me as friendly, empathetic, and a great listener. When I’m not in therapy sessions, you can find me soaking up the San Diego sunshine with my husband and our two-year-old son.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Kind
Caring
Detail-oriented
I chose the words kind, caring, and detail-oriented because they reflect both my personality and the way I approach my work as a speech-language pathologist.
- Kind — I believe in creating a warm, supportive environment where clients and families feel comfortable and valued. Kindness helps build trust, which is essential for meaningful progress in therapy.
- Caring — I genuinely care about each person I work with and take the time to understand their unique needs, goals, and challenges.
- Detail-oriented — Effective therapy depends on careful observation, planning, and follow-through.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I’m best positioned to serve adults with communication and swallowing disorders, and children with feeding challenges, apraxia of speech, and articulation needs. My background includes experience across medical and educational settings, which allows me to take a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to therapy.
