Introduction
Hi, I’m Karissa! I am a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Bridge & Bloom Speech Therapy. I earned my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
My approach is client-centered, which means I tailor every session to meet the unique needs, strengths, and goals of each child and family. I believe therapy should feel engaging, supportive, and empowering — helping children build confidence while making progress step by step.
I’m passionate about bridging communication challenges and watching children bloom into their fullest potential.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Positive
Compassionate
Creative
I chose the words positive, compassionate, and creative because they reflect how I approach my work as a speech-language pathologist with early intervention and young children. I bring a positive and encouraging energy into sessions to help children feel comfortable, confident, and excited to communicate. I am compassionate in the way I support both children and their families, understanding that every child develops and learns differently. I also consider myself creative because I enjoy using play-based activities, movement, visuals, and everyday routines to keep young children engaged while making communication learning meaningful, functional, and enjoyable during such an important stage of development.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to serve children in early intervention and young children with receptive and expressive language delays, articulation disorders, stuttering, pragmatic language and social communication difficulties, and AAC needs. I enjoy working with children who benefit from play-based, engaging, and individualized therapy approaches that support functional communication skills in everyday routines and interactions. I am especially passionate about supporting communication development during the early years, with a focus on helping children build the ability to communicate wants and needs, while also supporting emerging skills for sharing experiences, expressing emotions, and connecting meaningfully with their families.
