I would have given this place all 5 stars if they werent so pushy and inconsiderate. The therapist here at this location are great Super nice and helpful.Although I wish they can do a little more with teaching my son to talk. We been going for a year and some months and my son has made some progress. The thing I dont like is when canceling an appointment they are pushy to get you in that same day at another time or something the next day. I get it billable hours need to be met but my kid is in school and gets sick quite often. I wont be having my sick child go on or even have session over the computer. He needs rest. The last cancellation I had to give was upsetting. I had to inform them I was running behind with my other childs appointment in Fontana and they asked me why Im canceling and how far is the appointment. Also pushing me to take him in that day still. I was put off with the receptionist asking how long will it take me from Fontana to get to the clinic. It was raining and Im not going to be rushing for a speech appointment that only last 35-40 min when it should be a whole hour which Im paying for. They also threaten to close us out if we continue to cancel which has only been a hand full of times due to my child being sick.

I brought my 2 year old daughter to this office beginning July of last year because she was delayed in her speech and I cannot say enough great things about the therapists and staff. They have all been very accommodating friendly and welcoming to us. My daughter is now thriving when it comes to her speech and I owe it all to her therapists Janey and Rebecca. They make it a very enjoyable experience from beginning to end. They worked with my busy schedule and were sensitive to Olivias needs at all times. My family will always be grateful for what the office of Justine Sherman Associates Inc. was able to do for Olivia.

Frequently Asked Questions
Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
responding to questions
starting or ending conversation
changing conversation topics
using gestures like pointing
understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.
Spot speech and language delays like a doctor here.
The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
Noticing and understanding body language
Feeding and swallowing
Stuttering
If your child does not qualify, you can ask your school to evaluate your child for a 504 plan. This article provides more information about the differences between IEPs and 504s.
This happens. The results of the school’s evaluation may be different than your child’s medical diagnosis. It’s also important to remember that school is NOT the final say on your child’s potential. They may offer very little support to your child, underestimate their abilities, or disagree with you on what support your child needs. You will probably need to advocate for the services and support you believe your child needs.
