Introduction

Hi! My name is Julissa Mendoza and I'm a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with experience working with children across school and clinical settings. I specialize in evaluating and treating a wide range of communication needs, including speech and language disorders and cognitive-communication challenges.

In my work, I conduct thorough assessments using standardized and informal tools to pinpoint each child's unique needs and then develop personalized, evidence-based therapy plans to help them reach their goals. I believe in keeping families closely involved every step of the way, because progress happens both in sessions and at home. Whether your child is struggling with articulation, language development, processing, or something you just can't quite put your finger on, I'd love to connect and see how I can help!

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Kind
Energetic
and Hard Working
As an SLP, I chose the words kind, energetic, and hardworking because they reflect the way I support my students and clients every day. I am kind because I want every student and family to feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported during therapy sessions. Building positive relationships helps create a safe environment where students can grow and communicate with confidence. I am energetic because I love bringing fun, motivation, and positive energy into my sessions to keep students engaged and excited to learn. Lastly, I am hardworking because I am committed to doing everything I can to support each student’s communication needs and help them reach their goals.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

As an SLP, I am best positioned to support clients with Autism and other developmental delays. I have experience working with students ranging from elementary through junior high school and am passionate about helping each child build confidence in their communication skills. In addition to my professional experience, I also have personal experience with Autism, as I have siblings of my own on the autism spectrum. This has given me a deeper understanding, compassion, and appreciation for the unique strengths and needs of each child and family I work with.

I specialize in treating language disorders, articulation, and fluency, while creating individualized, engaging, and supportive therapy sessions tailored to each student’s needs. Although these are my primary areas of focus, I welcome and support clients with a variety of speech and language disorders.

    Beaming Review

Working alongside Julissa has been an absolute pleasure. She brings a creative, playful energy to every session, always researching new therapy ideas and connecting with kids at their level, especially those on the autism spectrum or with moderate to severe needs. Her expertise with AAC devices and assistive technology is impressive, and she handles every client with patience and consistency. On top of all that, she communicates with families in a way that is warm, professional, and deeply personal, and I would highly recommend her for any position without hesitation.
