About International Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment - Bel-Red

A commitment to hope and a future for children and families affected by autism and neurodevelopmental disorders around the world is our story and vision. ICAN (formerly Lakeside Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment) was founded in 2008 by a therapist that strived for hope and futures for all the patients and families he served. Today ICAN is the leader in treatment, education and diagnosis of autism and neurodevelopmental disorders in the Pacific Northwest. We achieve this as a multidisciplinary team, using evidence based treatment, excellent people, innovative approaches and engagement from the families. We welcome all our families to become part of our team to achieve the best possible outcome for your child and family.

Beaming Review

My experience with this provider’s billing was frustrating and lacked transparency. A straightforward pediatric psychological evaluation was divided into multiple billable visits (intake, nurse evaluation, physician documentation, and results review), with additional “material fees” for basic paperwork and high incremental charges for extra time. When my insurance (Premera) initially misprocessed the claim, the provider made no effort to clarify or resolve the issue and instead pushed for payment. Even after I requested the account be placed on hold while the insurer corrected the error, late fees were still applied during that period. Communication has also been poor—follow-up inquiries have gone unanswered for weeks. Overall, the process felt focused on maximizing charges rather than supporting patients, and required significant time and effort to manage.
