Introduction

Hi! I'm Ilene, a pediatric speech-language pathologist based in Reedley, California. I work with children ages 15 months to 11 years, using a play-based, child-led approach that makes learning engaging and meaningful. My areas of expertise include early intervention, speech sound disorders, AAC, and supporting children as they develop strong communication skills. I'm passionate about helping little ones say their first words, guiding older children as they refine their communication, and empowering families with strategies they can confidently use at home. My goal is to make every therapy session fun, supportive, and tailored to your child's unique strengths.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

fun
empathetic
patient
If I had to choose three words to describe myself, I would say fun, empathetic, and patient. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and excited to participate, so I strive to create therapy sessions that are both engaging and encouraging. I take the time to understand each child's unique personality, interests, and communication needs while celebrating every milestone along the way. Families often tell me they appreciate my attentive approach and the positive, supportive environment I create for both children and caregivers.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I'm best positioned to serve children between 15 months and 11 years old who thrive in a play-based, child-led environment. I especially enjoy working with children in early intervention, those with speech sound disorders, and children who benefit from AAC or other communication supports. I also value partnering closely with families because I believe meaningful progress happens when therapy extends beyond our sessions. I may not be the best fit for families seeking a highly structured, drill-based therapy style or for older adolescents and adults, as my expertise and passion are centered on supporting young children through engaging, individualized care.
