Was watching a news clip thinking of donating. Then I heard the woman refer to the age of the participants as 3 years old to adulthood with various issues. Really issues How demeaning.I think I will look elsewhere...ALS PTSD Autism etc. are not issues.Response to owners responseIf you are referring to me showing grace I find that quite condescending. You know nothing about me or my life with a disabled family member. Or my experience dealing with several relatives in recent years with debilitating and degenerative conditions.I made a comment on what your organization said publicly that I found offensive. May I suggest a simple apology they go a long way in the future and counseling those making public comments instead of defending their actions and finger pointing.

I attend the first responder cohort and its very helpful. The farm has a great vibe and even better people.

These people are angels. The hard work and dedication to their clients animals and the community is inspiring. Im a veteran nurse and first responder and I have had the honor of working with Terra the owner. This lady is magical. Her knowledge wisdom and energy is something I never experienced before. She managed to melt so many layers in just a few interactions which is something that 20 years of therapy never did. She truly cares about people on such a deep level and you cannot help but surrender to it all. Its honestly one of the craziest experiences because I have never even come close to feeling like there is a light at the end of this tunnel and then this farm and Terra came into my life. For the first time in a long time I feel hope unconditional acceptance and love that I have only ever experienced from my dog. Terra and the amazing staff- thank you for all your hard work and for truly creating such a special place where people can just be themselves and not be judged. Thank you for caring for people on such a deep level. It is truly felt and something I hope everyone will get to experience in their lifetime. Truly blessed to have met you.

I really wanted this place to work. I will say the grounds are beautiful and it is a very calming environment.My autistic son came here for therapy and support. He was struggling emotionally and behaviorally and got kicked out of the class. I understand that they had to have him removed to keep safety with the class. I got him calmed down and we talked through what he could do next time. Well at the end of the session the therapist comes up to him and starts lecturing him about everything he did wrong and gets him all upset and out of control again. She then turns to lecture me about how inappropriate his behaviors were. Im like Im obviously trying to work on those which is why we are here. This wasnt therapeutic at all and he was terrified to go back with how he was treated. I totally understand that the behavior wasnt ok. But this wasnt addressed in a way to help regulate him.What is the point of therapy if you arent going to teach him skillsAdditionally the kids are expected to wait for very long turns to do a simple task and are also expected to clean up poop etc. This may work for other kids but was not therapeutic to my son. Seemed to be more helping with chores than therapy.Finally communication is so rough here. They would call me 3 days in a row to ask the same question. There is no consistency with communication and they are hard to work with.I had heard so many benefits to equine therapy and I was so saddened that that was not our experience.

I had a foster kiddo that was able to attend. She came from a very hard place and was in numerous types of therapies. I can honestly say Hunkapi made the biggest difference. The work they do is invaluable to traumatized children.

We love the program but they get 2 stars because the communication is ATROCIOUS that has led to frustration and countless circular conversations. No matter how many people we talk to about a need to cancel an appt 2 of which we talked to them weeks in advance because we knew wed be out of town it seems my child is never taken off the schedule and then he goes down as a missed appt. This has resulted in multiple textsphone calls where we have to AGAIN explain why we wont be present or why we werent there. We have even had 2 people tell us we might not be able to continue the program because of this. When Ive explained it to them they go back and can then seem to find the notes about the conversation I had with someone. Most recently our insurance was dropped but we asked to stay on the schedule until we decided whether or not we wanted to pay out of pocket. I called them back that same day to request we be removed from the schedule. That was 3 weeks ago and were still receiving 4-5 forms of communication each week. I spoke to 2 people this week and just received another call asking why we werent at his appointment this morning Every time I talked to someone I say Ive called and left messages or talked to someone or sent emails I am then asked what numberemail Im using. Even if by chance I was using the wrong everything all of which I get from their website or our portal this doesnt account for all the times they have called ME. We considered returning if our insurance was picked back up but I can guarantee we will not. It has become apparent that our conversations are not important enough to actually follow through on so why put our family through that frustration

Amazing connection with my team. Terra helped us learn about activation and deactivation that lead into an exercise with horses. We have a great farm to table lunch. Beauty is ALL around you at Hunkapi Farms. The team is amazing. Thank you Terra.

THE MOST AMAZING PEOPLE This is truly an amazing place My wife of 16 yrs was diagnosed with cancer. Through another awesome foundation my two boys have been given the opportunity to spend a couple hours a week here. For them it is so awesome to be able to forget about the day to day and be kids They learn they love and they get to be in the moment Thank you to all the staff You have made a tremendous impact on the healing and mental state for my boys THANK YOU with all my heart
