Introduction
Hi, I’m Heidi McGregor Garske, a pediatric physical therapist based in Walnut Creek with over 30 years of experience supporting infants and young children. Much of my recent work has been in the neonatal intensive care unit, along with roles in private practice, major healthcare systems, and over a decade in Early Intervention. I also teach in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Samuel Merritt University. I’m excited to partner with families again, helping babies and toddlers build strong movement foundations through a thoughtful, strengths-based approach.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Thoughtful
Calm
Attentive/Focused
I would describe myself as thoughtful, calm, and attentive/focused. I take pride in really listening—to both the child and their caregivers—so I can understand each family’s unique needs and goals. Babies are incredible, and I feel honored to be part of their developmental journey. I strive to create a peaceful, supportive environment where families feel confident and empowered. My natural patience and empathy help me connect deeply, and I aim to bring a sense of joy and reassurance into every session we share.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to serve families with babies and toddlers (ages 0–3) who have concerns about movement, motor milestones, or overall development. My expertise in early intervention and my resilience-focused, strengths-based approach allow me to support families in building effective, enjoyable home programs that fit naturally into daily life. I also work well with children up to age 10 who need support with movement challenges. I’m not as well-positioned to serve older children or those with sports-related injuries, as my focus is on early development rather than athletic rehabilitation.
