Melissa's educational journey has been deeply rooted in her passion for both animal science and psychology, but it's her unwavering belief in the transformative power of equine-assisted interventions that truly sets her apart. Her journey began at the University of New Hampshire, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Applied Animal Science with a specialization in Equine Management. This foundational education laid the groundwork for her understanding of the profound connection between humans and horses. Driven by her desire to merge her expertise in animal science with her passion for psychology, Melissa pursued a Bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating Cum Laude with a focus on child and adolescent development. It was during this time that she began to explore the therapeutic potential of equine-assisted interventions in healing trauma.
