There are not enough words to express how grateful I am that we found Greens Karate. Both of my kids are eager to go to class and practice at home. Sensei Green is patient engaging and a true wealth of knowledge. His passion for karate pours over into everything he does with the class and he goes out of his way to build his students confidence and grow their love for karate as well.

Terrible experience. Sensei Green had little patience with my 3 year old. He said things like why arent you getting this and told me in front of my son that if he didnt listen now he wouldnt ever learn to. Sensei Green also used his own hands to grab my childs arms to get him to go wherever it was he wanted him to go. Absolutely not okay. The Senseis expectations for a 3 year old were unrealistic and the class was not set up for toddlers. Sensei really expected my toddler to stand on that tape and stay there. Hilarious We quit after 3 classes. Im surprised he works with children with disabilities.

I signed my boyfriends child up for classes here because we both felt he needed something to help give him more confidence plus he wants to be a ninja when he grows up. We were unfortunately late for the first lesson which they offer for free but during the bit of time spent there everything seemed okay so we went ahead and bought a package. He took him to his first full class. The first teacher was great with him. He was patient and good with the kids. However towards the end of the class Sensei Green took over. He was not so patient and at one point even asked my boyfriends son Why arent you getting this. That was pretty alarming to me because we signed him up so his confidence could improve not for him to be made to feel like hes not good enough which is exactly how a questions like that is going to make a child feel. So well be finding another dojo. I really surprised because they advertise that they frequently work with special needs kids so I had really high hopes for this place. I just wanted to warn all the parents looking into martial arts classes for their children. If you want someone whos going to teach using encouragement and compassion then you may want to move on to the next place. To clarify the other teachers there seemed great and we would have continued classes if not for Senei Green.

Ive been training at Greens Karate for the past 11 months. During that time I have lost weight and have greatly increased strength coordination and flexibility. Sensei Green is an excellent teacher and the senpais assistants each having a black belt are top notch as well. Sensei Green is a published author having written several books on karate and is well-known for his groundbreaking work with students having special needs. Greens karate is a gem in the greater Chattanooga area it is a well-established authentic traditional karate school that has produced an Olympic athlete and gold silver and bronze medalists at regional national and international karate competitions. My son has been talking about karate for a while..since his school did it one day a week and then did away with it. I was looking into it just to see if he would like it. We came across Greens karate. Corey and I went back and forth one weekend and he told me about the try out sessions. One session in and my little was hooked. Corey is absolutely fabulous Hes so patient with the kids and he really listens to any concerns that a parent has. Before starting karate my little was just.. entitled. Since hes started karate he has completely changed He helps around the house. His attitude is more of the I can rather than the I cant . And his manners... man... he is not the same kid. I am for ever grateful for leaping into this Also The other parents and kids are pretty awesome as well.

I first heard about Sensei Greens dojo in a flyer at a doctors office. I asked my mom if I could go to a class and I regret nothing. Ive been going ever since. Ive been at the dojo somewhere around four months and Im loving it. Sensei Green is a great instructor on traditional authentic Olympic karate. The style he teaches is Shito Ryu and he doesnt just give out belts like some other dojos do. Its a challenging class and you cant just learn it overnight. All in all Greens Karate is a great place to learn and has made history literally multiple times.
