Tips for parentsGet a print out of the referral and physically go their office to hand it in and set up the appointment. they never receive any of the ones your doctors send If you call the office dont leave them a message they will never cal you back.Just keep calling until someone answers the phone. They will eventually.Anytime you need to send them anything just go to their office if you email it they wont get it.It took us 6 months to get an appt after our doctor sent the referral 3 times. After reading the reviews and not getting a call back I went down there in person. At that time there was another mom is there having the same frustrations.A family friend also got referred to them for her son and again the same story. They didnt receive the referrals and no call backs. She finally had to go to the office as well to get any type of serviceWhen we just left our appt today the same story with another mom. She was upset they had not returned her calls and claimed they didnt get the referral. The office staff is nice however I think they have no work ethic and do the bare minimum. The doctor we see is Josh and he is fantastic I wish the rest of the service was as great for families just trying to get help for their kids. We are already going through so much as parents of disabled children that this just causes so much extra stress.

Waiting OVER a YEAR for an appointment seems extreme to me. Meanwhile they regularly send me emails for fundraising activities. Im sure once you get your child in its great but good luck ever being seen. We have literally been waiting so long they moved locations. We were not given notice of this of course and had to have our referral resent. I was told my son would be put as urgent and the long time we had already waited would be honored. At one point I got the email to do paper work and was told it would be soon. That was 11 months ago. I have been contacting about every 6 months to check on the wait time. I never get anywhere. I recommend finding somewhere else to go if you can. My son is now in middle school. By the time they get to him he will probably have already graduated and the wait would have all been for naught.

Would not recommend this place to test your child. Have your doctor refer you somewhere else. I was put on their wait list in November 2019 and they recently changed their name and lost my sons spot on the wait list so I wasted 3 years trying to get my son evaluated at this place. Now they want me to get added to the list again and what wait another 3 years for them to lose his referral again No thank you. I will take my child somewhere else no one is worth this wasted time.

Havent even stepped foot into this place and already have a bad thing to say. Just read the review and I am in the same situation as everyone else. We didnt get your sons referral. When my sons pediatrician called me days later to say they confirmed that it was sent. I called Ackermans office and they told me to wait 3-5 business days. I waited more than that. Called and the referral coordinator started catching an attitude. Let me also mention how nice and understanding I was being as I also am a patient coordinator and I am exceptional at it. I told her I had then send it again and I will call back to touch base and mid sentence she hung up on me that is embarrassing and you are a poor advocate for your future patients. I am just another mom trying to do the best for her son. Ill be going in office to speak to a manager because I dont play about my son I recommend anyone else to bring the referral to them because no one deserves to be talked to in such a poor manner. Do your job as these are all concerned parents looking to get help.

If Dr. Gaspar has diagnosed your child through an early intervention facility dont count on the follow-up HE REQUESTS at his office at Ackerman Center. He informed me at the diagnosis apt that he would want a follow-up before my childs 3rd birthday at his office not through the early intervention office again. Ive been trying for weeks to get on a waiting list with Ackerman and they are saying they wont see my child without a referral from a pediatrician. Gaspar is the referral since hes the one who wants the follow-up The pediatrician has no idea of the diagnosis date let alone Gaspar wanting a follow-up so Ackerman refuses to put us on the waiting list because my pediatrician has no idea what theyre talking about. Ackerman staff wont even entertain the idea of talking to Gaspar or the early intervention clinic to see that this is all a follow-up apt requested by him. Communication between him his office and the places he does diagnosis at is a joke And EVERYONE Ive talked to at Ackerman whether it be by phone or their email portals are jokes because they wont listen and just keep repeating themselves like robots. If you want resources to help your child I wouldnt waste your time with Ackerman. Also they have referrals from the early intervention office one from the day of diagnosis in October and one that was resent yesterday because I contacted the early intervention office to voice my frustrations and they sent it AGAIN to the Ackerman office. But surprise surprise like all the other reviews when I spoke to the rude repetitive robot on the phone today she couldnt find anything and just kept going on about a pediatrician referral.

Great place. Friendly staff and amazing quality of care. The only thing that could improve is getting someone on the phone on short notice

They never call patients to give updates about the waiting list. At first that waiting list was 6 months to a year. Ive been waiting for 15 months now. When you call its almost impossible to contact them. And they never have a concrete answer to give you. Havent even seen my son at this place and definitely wont be recommending it to anyone.

Claims they never received the referral after confirming it had been sent and the waitlist is from a year a half to two years. My son is starting school and is needing to be assessed so we can get him into the appropriate school that will benefit him. Breaks my heart for all the children who need help and have to wait this long. Booking somewhere else.

Great place for neurodivergent services. Dr Gasper De Alba is caring and shows a great deal of patience when it comes to the care of his patients. My daughter has been going there for 6 years.

It is a insane that for your front desk receptionist listing on Indeed wants you to have qualifications on Seriously mentally ill population Autistics are disabled and need to be accommodated not to be referred as an mental illness that is sought to be cured with ABA that has a strong history of abusing children for their ways of thinking and behaving. For any parents seeking for an evaluationtherapy sessions. Its best to go elsewhere anything that is University based is not going to help any children or individuals who are late undiagnosed. Its best to see a PsychiatristPsychologist or a Neurologist. Youll still have the issue of waiting because it is at a high demand so the brighter side is you wont lose your appointment spot.
