Introduction

Hi! I’m Grace, a speech-language pathologist and the owner of Hedgehog Speech Therapy in San Jose. I specialize in helping individuals of all ages to build strong communication skills through either a play-based and/or structured approach. My areas of expertise include speech sound disorders, language development, autism, social communication, gestalt language processing and early intervention. I’m passionate about making therapy engaging, functional, and family-centered to support each child’s unique needs. When I’m not in sessions, I enjoy hiking, drinking boba, and training for a marathon. I’d love to connect and support your child’s communication journey!

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Patient
Playful
Supportive
Patient: I understand that every individual learns at their own pace, and I strive to create a calm, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable exploring and growing their communication skills. Playful: I believe that learning should be fun! I incorporate games, movement, and hands-on activities to keep therapy engaging and motivating for each child. Supportive: I work closely with families to ensure they feel empowered and confident in helping their loved one communicate. My goal is to provide guidance, encouragement, and individualized strategies that fit each individual's needs.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I am best positioned to support children and adults who need help with speech sound development, apraxia, language skills, autism-related communication challenges, gestalt language processing, social communication skills and early intervention. My approach is individualized, structured, and client-centered, ensuring therapy is engaging, functional, and tailored to each person's unique needs.. While I support a wide range of speech and language needs, fluency disorders (such as stuttering) are not my primary area of expertise. I’m happy to refer families to specialists who focus on fluency if needed!

    Beaming Review

I am truly grateful to Ms. Grace, and we feel so lucky to have her as my son’s speech teacher. She is very professional and knows many wonderful techniques to capture a child’s attention. She is also incredibly patient with my son. After session, my son goes home and tells his dad "I like Grace!" We are very thankful.

Grace is fabulous! She's very communicative. She's great to work with and is very strengths-based in her treatment. She includes the family a lot in the process. She's a good listener but also pushes kids to achieve thier goals. I'd definitely recommend her!
