They should be upfront about how long it takes to receive a diagnosis 10 months after first contacting them and still nothing. The staff here is very nice and understanding but Ive been pursuing adhdautism testing since April. Thats when I first called. I had a 15 min phone consultation in June and didnt get the 1 hr evaluation until November. Took the in person tests questionnaires in December. Then while checking out I was informed that it would be a 6 week wait to get my results. It has been over 7 weeks and I still dont have my results. 10 months is too long for people who are struggling and need help. Frankly it seems irresponsible to take on new patients.

If your concened your child has a learning disability Do NOT come here. If the price of a neuropsych eval overwhelms you like it did to me submit a Request for an iee for a neuroosych from your school district. Freedom First while so much less expensive then a neuro psych eval was a waste of time and money. The psychologist told me my daughter did not have a learning disability and basically told me she was cognitively on the slower side. The report was also horrible. All it did was state the scores no explanations or suggestions. I was beside myself after getting this report andtalking to the Psychologist. Her scores suggested that there was for sure something going on but I get told my child is just a little on the slow side. A year later and I learned about the iee process and was able to have a neuropsych eval done at no expense to us. The results my child is pretty significantly dyselexic. Dont waste your time and money here for learning disability concerns.

Was referred to these people by my NPP. Had to wait a few weeks just to talk to them about getting an ADHD evaluation. When I finally did talk to them the phone call lasted approximately thirty seconds. They didnt take my insurance and the out-of-pocket cost was 1100far outside my budget. Wish I hadnt had to wait a few weeks to talk to this people. What a waste of time.

Dr Longo was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. The wait list was worth the wait to schedule here and im glad I came

Ive dealt with fantastic office staff. And my therapist Elizabeth has bent over backwards to not only work on my mental health shes given recommendations and advocacy dealing with human service organizations. I 100 recommend them.

Ive been waitlisted for almost 6 months and every time Ive called and asked about it they said theyd call eventually and schedule me for the next month which obviously didnt happen. If theres no availability instead of wasting my time when I really need this they couldve said that and I couldve found somewhere else but every single time Ive contacted them about this theyve said they will schedule me soon. Still have not received another call since I contacted a month ago. Will look somewhere else now that hopefully wont do this.

Great place great experience I never thought I could find answers to my issues but theyve proved me wrong They are so accommodating they have suggested a therapist based on my needs which worked out great. Dr. Wendy is super nice understanding and caring. I feel so much better then Ive felt in a long time.

Dr. Mahler is professional and kind. I am a family physician and I refer patients for evaluations like ADHD for both children and adults learning disabilities as well as for therapy. My patients have enjoyed their experiences there. I trust that the evaluations will be thorough and true. I am so thankful that Freedom First is in the capital region

As a care manager I have worked with Freedom First on several occasions for the psychological testing that is necessary for children and families I serve. They have always been able to schedule appointments for testing exponentially faster than other providers and provide the results in a timely manner. The assessments are very thorough and provide a lot of information for parents providers and schools. I would recommend them to anyone seeking psychological testing as well as outpatient mental health treatment.

Brought son for autism evaluation based on recommendation of his doctor. It was straight forward. Dr. Mahler was very knowledgable and kind as were the staff. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an autism diagnosis in the Albany area.
