FREED Center for Independent Living - Yuba

I had an older electric hospital bed . It was in good condition and Ii wanted to donate instead of hauling off to the trash. On 417 Freed added it to the list of items they had access to and asked if they could give anyone who called my name and number. I received three calls and someone came and got the bed today.I think its wonderful that Freed will match up people who bothhave end want to get rid of equipment with those in need..

If you or a loved one are in need of disability items and cant get them via insurance You may want to give Freed a look they also have volunteers that are able to fit bathroom handles for safety along with a lot of other equipment including walkers and have access to all manner of helpful stuff including aid and training..Also on the other hand if you have equipment that others can use please donate it dont just dump it. BUT Freed is NOT a place to dump rubbish. Whatever you donate MUST be safe and presentable. Would you want people to know that you think something broken and unsafe came from you If you think its worth passing on please do. Again with the BUT it must pass a check by the staff to ensure its safe and of a quality to pass on to someone that needs it...I can and do rate Freed as first class.I am a client and they have helped me A LOT.But they can only offer what others donatePlease donate equipment that a loved ones had and used so others can have and enjoy a little help from YOU

A very frustrating experience. Looking for help for my mother and after several weeks and many unanswered phone calls I have given up. The favorable reviews are probably fake.

Its a wonderful organization. Because of the help they provide for people with mobility issues.

I called many times. NO answer. Left messages no response. So I emailed them. No reply. I need a breast prosthesis since mine burned up in the Paradise fire but I guess they dont want to help me. Fine. I will continue to use a wadded up sock.

Wonderful people. Willing to help when you need it most.

Very frustrating experience. First contact I was given wrong information. When I called to find out the status of my case the manager Linda said she didnt have any record of my call even though I had spoken directly to her. We set up another time for a phone appointment but when that time passed and I still hadnt heard from Linda I again called to speak to her and again she hadnt recorded that it would be a phone appointment. However when I called the office a few minutes after my scheduled phone appointment she was not in the office.Very frustrating to try to make an appointment to get some safety bars installed. Even though it is work I cant afford I will try a different sorce. Not worth the frustration.

These are great people and an outstanding program.I wish however they offered a broader range of services to a broader range of community members.

Very helpful especially for somebody with disabilities and special needs
