Ive lived in Frederick County my whole life and started using the Parks and Rec activities and parks when I had my own kids 10 years ago. We are highly satisfied with everything our parks and rec has to offer There are multiple parks throughout the county that are well maintained and many are brand new or getting updates. My husband plays soccer on the turf fields through parks and rec and it offers him a great deal and lots of fun. My kids have done many programs through the recreator and love the swim lessons every summer. They offer so much and do so much for this community Not sure why there are such bad reviews as there is nothing to complain about here

I have had an extremely good experience with the Recreator. Phil Kefauver really goes above and beyond to accommodate the children the best he can. The Recreator is very organized with teams and schedule and my kids loved it playing soccer here. The registration process is very easy and the staff is so friendly and cooperative. Dont hesitate and sign up your children for activities at the Recreator

We enjoy Frederick County parks but Im reasonably certain part of our outrageously high property tax bill should go to keeping the restroom facilities 1 open 2 clean and 3 stocked with toilet paper and hand soap the latter supposedly being of such great importance to our politically COVID-correct officials. This is basic stuff FredCo. Purchase some TP keep the bathrooms stocked supply the means by which the citizenry can be hygienic...you know since you say we should.

Normally Im not one to leave reviews about any place of business or location which have the option to leave a review however a recent phone call with the phone representative has given me an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I called this center in efforts to find the right location for obtaining a a pool operators license and although I realize this is a department for parks and recreation I dont see how swimming wouldnt fit under recreation it does in other counties of MD. After asking said representative if this was the right location for my request She very bluntly said you called parks and rec with unnecessary attitude and not answering my question. I followed up with ok is that a yes or a no To which she did give an actual answer that they do not deal with anything pool related but that wouldve been a more appropriate response than you called parks and rec in addition to that when I asked her if she could point me in the correct direction she answered with I have absolutely no idea who you can talk to. She was still talking but by that point my patience was finished and I hung up on her mid sentence. Im sorry but this is a county facility I dont personally work in Fredrick I work in a different county of MD however theres a standard level of customer service you should have working for any division of a county Ive taken customer service training and I now see theres a greater need for it than I originally realized especially as the front desk representative. Even if she genuinely couldnt help me theres a way to express that without giving me the feeling of hanging up on her mid-sentence. If I could I would leave a negative star review.

Phenomenally service-oriented. Called about the outlets under the pavilions at Kemptown Park not powering properly.Within 25-minutes a very courteous friendly and caring employee arrived to access the issue. Within minutes everything was spring properly.Kemptown is a very clean well-maintained local park. Its within walking distance to my home. A rare gem indeed.

We have been using the services of Frederick County Parks and Recreation for 6 years. Primarily we use the programs for young children which have been superb as additional educational experiences. Just a few of our favorite programs have been Nature Academy all of the cooking classes adults and children and the events throughout the year like WWII Weekend Nature Fest Trick or Treat through History and the Easter Egg Roll. Frederick County Park and Recreation is honestly a big reason why I love Frederick so much and choose to live here. I want my children surrounded by a wide variety of experiences that Frederick County Parks and Recreation provides.

The login page is TERRIBLE. Logging in to register for a class is a hunt and seek game. The correct login screen is there somewhere but it is hidden by the wrong one at every turn. It has been this way for as long as I can remember. I only go in once or twice a year and each time I have a run a round trying just get in to register the kids. The classes and camps would be more populated if parents could actually register their kids.
