Our kid had his dental procedures done under general anesthesia at Franciscan recently. Olivia the nurse was very kind giving him toys showing him photos of the operating room. She explained everything to us and walked us to wherever we needed to go including to the parking lot when we were done.

As a Girl mom my voice needs to be heard. I have told Franciscans numerous of times my preference was to not have my daughter changed or bathed by males. I live 2 hours away from Boston a FEW times Ive called they had males taking care of my daughter. I was going to stay quiet but they got me blocked for the last year and a half from calling and checking on my daughter. They played victim and flipped the script. Its serious because my mother I have faced molestation but not only that. In some cultures thats not acceptable. To me thats not acceptable or appropriate. They complained that I was inappropriate and for some reason they won when someone should have been fired. Maybe because Im black. So for the last year a half I no longer could check on my daughter by phone My daughter has been taking care of by males which is what I never wanted at a early age so for that my comment will stand. The damage is already done

My daughter had dental work done here and everyone was so kind As soon as we got there they gave her coloring pages crayons markers and play doh. They gave her the mask that was going to be used to make her fall asleep and let her decorate it with stickers. They showed her on an iPad a picture of the surgical suit and a picture of the recovery room and explained everything that would happen and assured her she was safe and there was nothing to be afraid of. I was not aloud in the surgical suit due to me being pregnant luckily they allowed her Nana to be with her while she fell asleep. I had very bad anxiety about her going under anesthesia and they made this experience as stress free as it could be. When she woke up they came and got me and I walked into the recovery room to see a nurse cradling her rocking her and patting her head- this meant SO much to me to see how compassionate she was towards my daughter. Very happy with the care my daughter received.

I was in the CBAt unit at the fran 2 times. the first time was in July to August 2021. the second time was in November-December 2022. Both experiences were mainly positive with a few bumps in the road. Most patients there were such kind and empathetic people. Same goes for the staff. The ones that made an impact on me the most were probably Ceci Abby Sam Sean Josh Dee And my social worker Katie. There are more as well but those are the first that come to mind. I think about them often and how much of a positive impact they had on my life. Shame i cant talk to them due to HIPPA. But thank you Franciscans for making such a positive impact on my life

My child has been a patient here since I adopted her in 2004. The staff here have always treated my daughter like gold and have recommended the best of the best that exists. And if my insurance wouldnt cover it then I would pay for it - but what I was glad about was that I found out that things existed. Before they told me I didnt know certain things even existed. I love this place.

I stayed in Unit 1 if you know you know for sixteen days. I couldnt leave. That being said Franciscan Childrens staff policies and overall impact on me was incredible. ALMOST Im going to be honest every staff member in Unit 1 is kind fun personable compassionate and understandingwhile still being strict and firm when necessary. The policies and rules surrounding patients visits privileges and passes were straightforward and did not punish patients for distressful behavior. The impact this unit and this program had on me AND on my other hospitalized peers was overall outstanding. I would absolutely recommend this inpatient unit although patients dont often have the option to choose where they are hospitalized and I commend the staff for their impact on me and my peers. Although the experience of hospitalization is in itself awful Franciscan Childrens Unit 1 absolutely made it as painless and pleasant as possible. Thank you.-Thomas Contonio

Our kid had his dental procedures done under general anesthesia at Franciscan recently and had a great experience. All the nurses and child life specialists were very kind giving him toys showing him photos of the operating room. They explained everything to us and walked us to wherever we needed to go including to the parking lot when we were done. The anesthesiology team is experienced and functioned smoothly. We were kept well informed the entire time. It is a smaller and older hospital but provided great care nonetheless. We were very happy that we had his procedure there instead of private office.
