The Forta Health Difference

About Forta Health

If you have been told the waitlist is a year out, or that the nearest clinic is an hour each way, or that your plan does not work with the provider you finally found, you are not imagining how hard this is. Families tell us this constantly. It is not a sign you have missed something obvious.

Forta Health started in 2021 with a close look at why families wait. We operate the nation's largest Virtual ABA Network, delivering evidence-based ABA therapy to children with autism at home over a secure video platform. Virtual ABA is available in 43 states, and In-Home ABA is available in Houston, TX and coming to select cities.

The encouraging part is that beginning care does not have to take a year. Most families start within 90 days, without a commute and without rearranging their week around clinic hours.

How care works

  • A BCBA builds your child's individualized therapy plan, tracks progress, and adjusts goals as skills develop.
  • An RBT runs the live sessions under BCBA supervision and coaches you through carrying strategies into mealtimes, bedtimes, and everyday moments.
  • You are in the session. Parent partnership is central to the model, which is what helps skills hold up outside of scheduled time.

Insurance and cost

We accept Medicaid and 300+ commercial plans, and our advocates handle benefit verification and prior authorizations from start to finish. For most families with Medicaid, medically necessary ABA therapy is covered with no out-of-pocket cost. Coverage and any cost-sharing vary by state and plan, so we confirm your exact cost before your first session.

Founding Story

Forta Health started in 2021 with a close look at why families wait. Waitlists measured in months. Clinics too far to reach on a weekday. Insurance approvals that stall with no explanation. If that's your experience, it's not unusual and it isn't a sign you've done anything wrong.

Our founder watched his own family run into every one of those barriers after a relative was diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Forta was built to remove them: online ABA therapy delivered at home, with plans built and supervised by BCBAs, RBTs running the day-to-day sessions, and parents learning the strategies alongside their child.

Our clinical team and our engineers work the same problem from two sides, making the care excellent and making it reachable. That's still what we're doing.

This company is a start up, and therefore has all the toxic features of a start-up run by mean ambitious young people. Which in a Tech giant like Apply is ok, but when dealing with families who have autistic children it's not.

Frequently Asked Questions

Forta Health provides ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum. Virtual ABA is delivered at home over a secure video platform and is available in 43 states. In-Home ABA, where an RBT works with your child in person, is available in select cities. Forta has been operating since 2021.

The therapy itself follows the same evidence-based ABA principles. What changes is the logistics. There is no commute, sessions can be scheduled outside standard business hours including evenings and weekends, and the skills are taught in the place your child actually lives. You are in the session rather than in a waiting room.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst builds and supervises your child's individualized therapy plan, tracks progress, and adjusts goals as skills develop. A Registered Behavior Technician runs the day-to-day sessions under that BCBA's supervision. Both hold current credentials.

Yes. ABA therapy is covered as a medically necessary service for children with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, so a diagnostic report is part of getting started. If you have an evaluation in progress, our team can tell you what documentation your plan will need.

Yes, and that is by design rather than a workaround. Parent participation is central to the model, particularly for younger children. You learn the strategies alongside your child so they carry into mealtimes, bedtimes, and the rest of the week. If your schedule makes that difficult, it is worth raising on your first call, because it affects which service line fits.

Most families begin within 90 days. That covers insurance verification, the initial assessment, and matching your family with a clinical team. If you have been quoted a 6 to 18 month wait somewhere else, that gap is the reason Forta exists.

Forta accepts Medicaid and more than 300 commercial plans. For most families with Medicaid, medically necessary ABA therapy is covered with no out-of-pocket cost. For commercial plans, any copay, coinsurance, or deductible depends on your specific plan. Coverage and cost-sharing vary by state and plan, so we confirm your exact cost before your first session.

No. Our advocates manage benefit verification and prior authorization with your insurer from the start, and again when your child's therapy plan comes up for renewal. You will be kept updated at each step.
